    Sir Reams,
I think RSA are now fully aware how much of an impact basketball per se on the lives of Filipinos as a whole, as per his previous interviews he admitted that he is not actually a fan of the game and in fact as per suggestion of his Board of Governor they are contemplating of disbanding the teams because it is not an income generating entity of the empire but the late Boss Danding his mentor(being a Yes Man of the late ambassador) talk to him not to do that and the rest is history.

With that Asian Game victory and his partnership/friendship with MVP, with Chualay wether you like him or hate him as his Sports Director we do hope that some critical issues besetting Philippine basketball may somehow address considering he is the Trunk Port of the two empire.

The PBA badly needs a young commissioner who had the tongue and the brain to deal with the Granpas without hurting too much of their old egos. For now that is a wishful thinking.

Yes. According to RSA he's just doing this for the enjoyment of the Pinoys. He doesn't seem to be a fan. So integrity of the game and such probably doesn't matter to him as long as he gets results. It's a bit sad though. A real fan would not let this happen. SMB before, except for the Asaytono era, always had a star studded team. But they didn't have a sister team before. And when they had they didnt have a farm team. It was under RSAs watch that the parity of the teams went down, mostly due to the farm teams. If I were commissioner I would look for new franchises to buy out the farm teams. If a team is always last 2 despite having a top 1 or 2 pick every draft they should sell their franchise.

        Sir RDS,

Amongst the tycoons nowadays, the Gokongweis, the Lucio Tans, the Tan Caktiong, the Ayala-Zobels, Andrew Tans of Megaworld are not really a fan of the game, except maybe of Hans Sy of SM who are involved in NU and NBTC, Enrique Razon of ICTSI- DLSU of PBA D-League and UAAP but are they enthusiastic enough to venture a team in the PBA? same with the Lao's of Strong Group and Chris Tiu's family.

So sad that Bong Tan has already passed away and his siblings are not really the fanboy/fangirl type...

The matchup between Tanduay's Menk-Alvarado-Hatfield-Hontiveros and SMB's Two Danny's-Belasco-Boybits-Abuda-Lago-Olsen is still one of the top of the list in my bucket list..

I really miss those childhood days of mine..it's not perfect but it's worth remembering.

        90's is still the best.

the problem is in pba you have to buy the franchise yet you still need to pay pba entry fee of 100 million and bond of another 100 million..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
            1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

                Sir CoJ,

speaking of PBA provisions, does the league allowed major or minor shares if someone(not a Filipino of course) are interested enough to put a team or two?

Is there a file that's open to the public? The PBA ain't known for transparency.

because there will be some possibilities in the near future that a billionaire foreigner or group of billionaire expats(obviously a fan of the game) suddenly became interested in Philippine basketball and want to experience it first-hand.

                          Who knows.

Shell and Alaska were not Filipino majority owned. They quit the PBA more because their foreign owners didnt see the point of spending so much on a basketball team. MVP group is not Filipino majority owned. But Salim probably sees the wisdom of spending on basketball in return for owning strategic Filipino companies.

yup!! oo nga pala noh!! now we had the idea...we all know those foreign Bosses are not really the typical fanboy/fangirl of the game..not like the billionaire owners of those NBA teams like Mark Cuban and the Tech. Billionaire owner of the Clips among others..whom we all know had passion to the game.

that's the kind of businessmen the PBA needs to lure not the kind who only had some other agendas.(I'm biting my tongue right now).

Oh dear!! we all know whose the obvious..that is why.

Would have been the most ideal scenario if only basketball (specifically PBA) is as profitable a business venture as real estate is here in the PH, to the point that the Pinoy Forbes listers would be lining up to join or invest in the league. However, it's the complete opposite eh.
