and I also thought he played fewer games this season since he was coming from a major injury. This just shows us how weak the C position is that a injured JMF can easily dominate the stat sheets even with limited games.

They really need to change the criteria for the awards.

edit: I think Junmar could win 10 MVP awards for his career, unless of course some Fil-Am center/PF decides to play in the PBA (or Kai enters the league next year)

10 MVPs playing against 6'6 centers and 6'10 imports.

his closest competitor during his peak would be Greggy, Cstan and Mo would have been threats but they became second fiddle to JMF

if only junmar had quality opposition in his oba career, he would have been much more productive for gilas.

regardless, he still has my respect

Honestly, this is an argument for more imports, and making them permanent. Well, apart from the EASL.

There aren't that many Greg, CStand, and Mo quality local bigs. Imports can fill that role. Give June Mar a better challenge, and give teams a chance to compete size-wise.

To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
            1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Yep. I mean, not many local bigs that can compete. Not just 5, but even 4. Luis Villegas and Keith Datu are just two bigs. The PBA will need more.

A glaring problem at the wing too. Hope Zavier Lucero and Christian David can solve that problem for the PBA.

Well, if we look at it, there aren't many 6-foot-8 & above quality bigs in Japan's B-league. But the B-league more than make up for it by having 3 world imports in each team. Therefore a B-league team can have as many as 2 or even 3 six-foot-eight & above imports.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                      • Outside of Sotto and Edu I dont think we have any notable centers. Some would say Justine Baltazar, Justin Arana and Mike Philips but they are undersized for the center position in international competition and are more suited to play the power forward position.
