It goddamn sucks that imports are only there for part of the season. They could fill up for either SF, PF, or center, force smaller bigs to play PF, and small ball fours to play some SF. The PBA better revisit that format.

Yeah, the repetitive format will generally not help the basketball scene here. We're the only league in the continent with an all-local tournament as part of the season.

With imports like Brownlee, Durham, KJ McDaniels, Terrence Jones, they add another layer, a tougher matchup, and more excitement. These guys (or at least the former three) should at least be considered part of the permanent roster of the PBA teams.

also having a longer season would help us get quality imports, top tier imports would rather have longer deals rather than what the PBA can offer, which could result to resident imports which could eventually become our naturalized players

And even with the 3-conference format, I hope the PBA can consider adding imports as part of the permanent roster. It's about time we had imports for the whole year. No height limits for the whole year too. Kahit starting with the longtime imports. Have them take a Fil-foreigner spot, ganun.

And more venues sana for simultaneous games. Might need another TV contract or channel, though.

Similar to the NBA, have the marquee matchups on national TV (A2Z, GMA, TV5) and relegate the farm teams to PBA rush or One Sports Plus, mediocrity should not be rewarded with primetime national tv coverage, though I am not sure about the income sharing among teams and networks regarding the broadcast of PBA games. I just assume that teams playing games with high tv ratings get additional incentives or higher share of tv revenue.

simply put, farm teams like BWe, Terrafirma and Northport should be relegated to cable tv until they get competituve, easier said than done though

I do hope that this already counts as a full PBA season, and will be the basis for 'full PBA season' (except for the part where imports' height is limited, and that both conferences will have imports). Give some more leeway for FIBA, and allows imports for the whole season, making local bigs' roles more defined.

aside from providing leeway for FIBA competition, having a real offseason would allow the players to get quality rest and proper conditioning, im not a fit person but we have a lot of players who would start the season out of shape like lee , pasaol and even jason castro. This will also serve as the proper time for skills training as well

                    • PBA season opening rumored to be targeted on June 5: https://twitter.com/Tekken21329825/s...l9iihp_Yw&s=19

Is the PBA serious? That's when we should be preparing for FIBA. The FIBA Asia Cup's on July 12. Putanginang 'to.

Priorities talaga. And they want representation on the national team, but just lend few players. Not really helping much on preparation.

Hope this is just a pending date, and gets moved to AFTER the FIBA Asia Cup.

That's why B.Leagues boys (Thirdy, Kiefer, Dwight and Ray), Jordan Heading, and Kai Sotto should be included in FIBA-Asia Cup. These overseas pros will fill the gap left by the PBA. The only participant from the PBA should be Calvin Oftana. The rest will be filled by Kouame, Baltazar and Tamayo. The remaining two will be a tossed up for anyone.
