Phoenix again is doing cost savings mode.
becos they feel that they have a shot at a final 4 or even a finals this time. too bad, i think with oftana and semerad, they could actually win it sana.

Ross is now a playoffs player vs. total conference player

No wonder development stagnates once they get into the pros. What you see on his rookie year is almost what you get on his prime. 2015 Troy Rosario is almost the same player as 2022 Troy. Abueva even stagnated from being a playmaker in NCAA averaging a triple double to exlusively playing the 3 and 4 spot.
With Troy, well, TNT didn't really develop him. Instead of being a combo forward like Baltazar, he was just relegated to a stretch 4 who can cut and is active on the boards.

Yeah, Abueva had potential as a combo guard. Shame that he was just a 3/4 for his PBA career.

Development culture here kinda sucks. Talking about specifically for the PBA for the most part, not the entire PH basketball scene.

perhaps we could blame the mentality that the endpoint for these athletes is the PBA, so once they get there, the assumption is the players are finished products and should contribute immediately. In the leagues history, I can only remember a few instances wherein teams deliberately fielded a lineup for development purposes, for instance the mid 90s SMB coached by Ron Jacobs with Racela, Art Dela Cruz, Mike Mustre, Freddie Abuda and Siot Tanquincen. Come to think of it, the PBA didn't even used the PBA D League to develop prospective rookies and role players with no playing time. Its like it was establish to streamline scouting.

          • Little by Little. Fil Foreign Fiba Ineligible Players will dominate the Pba even more. And they are all developed mostly overseas.

But anyway, I am sure there will always been an exception to any rule. And in Pba, I think there will be always 3-4 fiba eligible locals who deserved to be at least in the pool.

But the core of the Team, I think it would came from Player Overseas and College. Unless College Stars (like Balti and Tamayo) goes to pba too.

            • Jericho Cruz will be the "ryan reyes" of smb and will be a desiganted mikey stopper in they go deep in this conference
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
              1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Only to win by 4 pts with a questionable call to boot. He even has a legit NBA player. Good thing though it leaves a room for Tab.

i wonder what "company" name Pineda will use for his team, aside from the mentioned names Pineda might also look to acquire Mayor Castro and eventually Justin Baltazar

Pampanga Delta perhaps. They will carry the name of their province with financial backing of certain companies.

not bad actually, he could start the regionalization of the league with this move , lets not just talk about his funding source

Yeah, we better zip our mouths. Anyway, if that pushes through, I will not be surprise if they will ask for their homecourt. The question is where? AUF Gym or Bren Z. Guiao?

Other than politics, Delta's dad has an online sabong firm.

State gaming regulator Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. has allowed four firms to operate electronic cockfight gambling or e-sabong in the country, an official said yesterday.
