Actually it was Phoenixs inconsistent moves that is to blame. There is another article that said Banchero was ok to taking a paycut to compete for a championship.

Phoenix was this close to getting the Finals and they blew it up. Traded their X factor Abueva for a lesser version of their stud Perkins. Manuel a another ball dominant PF with no defense or outside shooting. And they dropped him like a hot potato. They dropped Marcelo and Heruela for nothing. That tells you that Phoenix is not serious in competing for a championship. You cant blame Banchero and possibly Wright for abandoning ship. Cant blame them when their owner only got ahead because of political patronage. That they will lose in the elections.

Abueva is a loose cannon, too much baggage to keep him, especially since you dont want phoenix gas and abueva problems in the headline of news.

Pay it in terms of base, but he knows the perks when you win a chip or atleast make it far in the playoffs

Well there is an announcement on Toyoma's page and even Dwight himself explained it on a video. I wonder though if the other imports were invited but it looks to me they're enticing players who are probably having second thoughts now like Kobe, Javi and Juan to go home.

yes, SBP really pulled all the stops to bring home Dwight. Dwight's contract is for 1 season anyway, so for the sake of optics, SBP maybe might assume his contract, especially if Dwight was really the point of contention for everything. i still hope he goes back to Japan, but this just became muddy.

if they want to others to go home, then SBP should make a deal similar to Dwight, even to point of assuming their contracts if something happens (health-wise), but how can SBP assume all those multimillion contracts? so i guess it's just Dwight for now. but if SBP really wants to make a statement, then bring home Kobe and Javi too.

What are the chances they never let him get back? They could just fake a PCR result ( heard this is a modus there which is why I'm 50-50 going home next month) or a BS injury/ reason. Especially after the shade Dwight, Kiefer and RJ posted on Twitter. Why are they really hellbent on keeping hoarding all the talents in the Philippines? Is he getting commission if they enter the PBA draft?

Why hoard? I mean, it's not like there's a scarcity of quality PBA prospects when the top Gilas players leave for Japan, SoKor, Aussie, Taiwan, etc. There are quality prospects in the UAAP/NCAA/CESAFI that maybe 'pang-PBA lang', but quality nonetheless for PBA standards. Not to mention the Fil-foreigners.

Or maybe it's more than the quality, and the PBA wants to be represented in Gilas, which is why they're after the Gilas amateurs.
