Possible tie-up: PBA, KBL to exchange players

"Gusto nila ng cooperation, strengthening relations and friendship. Gusto nila magusap ang PBA at KBL kung ano ang pwedeng gawin," said Marcial on a recent communication with the Korean league well received by the PBA.

"Ang sabi ng board okay yan. (Let's) engage," said Marcial, looking forward to forging partnership and cooperation that would be beneficial to both leagues.

ROS needs another ball creator aside from Nambatac. But is ROS willing to shell out money to take in Banchero. Meralco is also a good destination for Banchero since they lost Pinto to free agency.

        lol at this quote:

While Phoenix is an independent team, it is filthy rich like the SMC and MVP Group. Its parent company is Udenna, a conglomerate founded and owned by Dennis Uy, a close ally of president Rodrigo Duterte. According to Forbes, Uy is the 27th richest man in the Philippines with a net worth of $710 million.

Korean imports, especially known marksmen, might help with the PBA's 3-point shooting, which has been pretty much below average, which is why PBA teams can get away with sagging off on shooters. If the shooting improves, the perimeter defense should improve. Otherwise, the defense will keep getting burned. Could be helpful.

However, we might have to integrate the Korean import while not compromising the playing time of the FIBA-eligible players.

The PBA seriously needs to consider rule changes on the Fil-foreign rule. It should be changed to FIBA-ineligible rule. That way, we can get naturalized players and imports as well as FIBA-ineligible locals.

I want Lee Seunghyun (the lefty bigman), Choi Junhyong (6'7 point guard) and Oh Sekeun (6'7 version of Patrimonio) to play here.

Oh, yeah. Some Koreans could provide positional upgrades to our forward positions. A lot of our PFs and SFs are undersized for their position. This might eliminate the undersized 3-guard lineups as well.

Him and Gabe are aging already. Oh, yeah, I forgot about Calvin Oftana. If he gets good enough in the PBA after a year or two, he might be considered.

As for bigs, yeah, they have to contend with imports, whether on the pick-and-roll or in the low post. Greg and June Mar will get pick-and-rolled or pick-and-popped to death. Same with Ian Sangalang. Japeth has just signed a 3-year extension with Ginebra. Raymond Almazan and JP Erram, sure they're mobile, but are they good enough, and is TNT willing to give up Erram?

                  6'7 Acuno
                  6'6 Williams
                  6'5 Rosario
                  6'5 Marcelo
                  6'5 Fuller

This is a solid frontline - not tall but very versatile.
All of them can play at least one forward position (Acuno is sometimes listed as a forward, not a center). Can Chot develop Acuno into a nice 4/5, at least a rotation-quality one? He has the size to play the 4, and could stretch the floor as both a 4 and a 5.

I will not surprise if he picks meralco.. honestly, I’m surprised that no any smc teams are interested on banchero.. I thought they are the favorites to get him..
All the SMC teams have a ton of rotation guards. It won't really make sense to get Banchero.

So Chot's really going in with the versatility, huh. Interesting to see how he goes. Will he go with Rosser as a small-ball 4 with his 3-guard lineup, or will he slot him at the 3?

Chot might be onto something. He might go Miami Heat style with positionless basketball at times. At least Rosser fills a massive hole they have at the wing.

Yeah. Coach Chot's system favors Versatile Perimeter oriented bigs, Wing Shooters, and Scoring Guards.

I will say Coach Chot improved a lot since his last pba stint. Probably results of Coaching Clinics, Film Watching, and Coaching Seminars.

No disrespect to Coach Mark Dickel. But I think Coach Chot is the better coach for TNT.

I mean Dickel at least made the Finals. But Coach Chot suddenly won a ring first season when he is just given the team.

You could argue the addition of two williams (Mikey and Kelly) gave them a boost. But still.

Going back, this is nothing new. Coach Chot doesnt do traditional systems and lineups. That's why Junemar Fajardo and Him doesnt Co exist generally. (Except for a few games)

He looks like he's adopting sort of a Spoelstra system, with a wing at 4, and a big who can play 4 at center. His modification is that he usually uses a 3-guard lineup. He does go to two-big lineups a lot, though, with Kelly, Troy, and Erram.

Williams is a tremendous addition to TNT and looked to be the best player out their in most nights.. but yeah picking him, making Kelly play again, adding tough role players has Chot fingerprints on it
