Cebu, Lipa etc as long as logistics and costs will be reasonable). Lets be honest prior the pandemic the gate attendance for the elimination games of the PBA's popular teams (BGSM) are disappointing.
The problem with PBA model is it cannot sustain a solid fanbase. It cannot even properly build a solid fanbase. Who would like to support a team of a perfume and comestic company? They don't have a solid connection with the people. Unless you have charismatic players like Jawo, Patrimonio, James Yap, Junemar, or Caguioa in your team, you cannot easily build a fanbase.

In contrast, a team representing a province or a city will not run out of supporters.

    • PBA still hoping that they could host the ll Star Game despite the pandemic

"Kailangan namin ang All-Star Game, dyan kami humuhugot ng pondo para sa Players Trust Fund. Sana magkaroon tayo ng All-Star Game this year," said Marcial, referring to the income poured into the program funding scholarship of children of retired PBA players.

I hope TNT gets him back, or he gets to sign with teams not named SMB, BWB, TF, and NP. I saw him get back to his old form during some of their games last conference. I think he'll be a great asset to those teams that run small-ball system of play.

Alaska or ROS can get his services.

Yeah, he'll fit right in with these teams. He's a tall wing pa naman who can decently bring the ball down on some possessions.

if he ends up with ROS, Norwood could mentor him

RoS has a load of wings. Alaska, on the other hand, could use him. They've needed wings for a while.

Other teams could include TNT and MERALCO, who are both in real need of wings.

Their contracts expire in January 31. Will the SBP let them return to their mother teams? If they do, we might need more recruits to the team. They provide bodies, e.
Well, are Go, Suerte, Bulanadi, and the Nieto twins needed by their respective teams? They could be nice additions, though, especially Go, as TerraFirma could use another big.

                  • Alaska needs him but can they afford him? I doubt it.

He'll probably end up in either an SMC or MVP team. He's looking to get paid

Again this will be more expensive, arena maintenance and quality can't be guaranteed. Even now, alot of slippery floors on provincial Arenas. Crowd control is an issue for home crowd because they are now regular playdates. Look at MPBL, force to use few arenas in GMA, can't do games in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

We usually hear them when someone is either putting up a new team or a team is relocating in another city.

I still believe though that we can keep politicians away from a regionalized league.

Per venue, Alonte, Sports Arena, Caloocan Sports Complex, Bren Guiao, and Baliuag Star Arena are some of the better courts we have. These fully-furnish floorings and good air conditioning. These three arenas already hosted games of PBA, MBA, and PVL (and PSL).
As for arenas, usually, the home team can help maintain it, and probably improve it. Sponsors might be able to help as well.

PBA should encourage less popular teams like Phoenix, ROS, Alaska, NLEX and Meralco to adopt a province for purpose of creating their respective fanbases. Kasi naman, who really wants to support a team of powder-filled milk, a house paint, or gas station? Things will be different if they put names of provinces in their team.

                          Pampanga NLEX Road Warriors
                          Caloocan Meralco Bolts
                          Laguna Alaska Aces
Bulacan Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
                          Batangas Phoenix Fuel Masters

No need for more popular teams like Ginebra, SMB, Magnolia and TNT to adapt a province since they have already big fanbases.

                          Per venue:

NLEX - Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex and Convention Center - 3,000 seats
Meralco - Caloocan Sports Complex - 3,000 seaters
Alaska - Alonte Sports Arena - 6,500 seaters
ROS - Baliuag Star Arena - 5,000 seaters
Phoenix - Batangas City Coliseum - 5,000 seaters

Even if you reach you don"t reach 10k in gate attendance, if you get these smaller arenas jampacked every game, you can generate good revenue. For me, hybrid regionalization will do.

I would go further saying that the companies should instead be relegated to sponsors, but I don't think that this proposal is feasible at this point. Who other than the corporations has the money to support a basketball franchise?

Gokongwei's already had a go with the PBA before, they owned the Presto/Great Taste franchises

the rest of those conglomerates you mentioned also don't need the PBA at all to create value and drive sales for their brands

And Chot loves these kind of player, TNT still lack of wing player position after Khobuntin.. But if terms of playing time and more earning, Meralco is the best option for him...
I agree that MERALCO would be a perfect fit if he wants playing time. They are lacking in the wings. Black's had to play Newsome and Quinto at the 3 a lot. MGR to MERALCO would push Newsome, Quinto, and probably Pasaol to the guard position.
