These crooked PBA people are obviously thinking of "makabawi" sila for the loses they incurred during the 2 years of this pandemic period that's why they are planning for a 3-conference season next year. Well, good luck to that with this dreaded COVID-Omicron variant coming to the country. PBA badly needs luck to come-up with their traditionally sucking 3-conference format.
This is why the franchise system is never going to work here. It's too much of a greedy capitalist system that only cares about profits than for the sport.

In all honesty, why don't they just get rid of the "Philippine Cup"? It's a pointless conference that's an eyesore to watch with all the undersized 6'6 centers being stunted in their abilities.

I agree with the All-Filipino point. These 6'6"-6'8" centers should learn how to play as PFs at least so that their minutes won't be taken by taller imports, should the PBA decide on a 6'10" height limit.

They're being stunted in a way. If center's the only position they know how to play, then they won't see much time when big imports come along.

And won't make them marketable for foreign leagues where they can make more money.

Guys like Chua, Troy, and even Almazan are more than capable of being offered a B. League contract.

Better if the PBA simply does a two-conference format or better, a one-season format, as it will better help adjust to the EASL and FIBA schedule, and also give ample time for an offseason. Plus, giving good support (meaning ample e.g. lending players fit for international play, giving ample time depending on the FIBA event, and resulting to success) to Gilas may invite more fan interest.

And, why the third conference when you have additional games in the EASL? I mean, come on. Let the EASL serve as the third conference.
PBA would be better off adopting similar competition format/calendar used by top European football leagues.

          1. Regular season + 3 rounds of playoffs (with imports) - from 2nd week of October to 4th week of April. Will run concurrently with the EASL season.
          2. PBA/SBP/All-Local Invitational Cup (all-local) - from 2nd to 4th week of May.
          3. PBA Super Cup (with imports) - will be contested by semifinalist or next-best finishers from the first 2 tournaments, from 2nd to 4th week of June. Finalists of this tournament will qualify to next season's EASL tournament.
          4. Off-season months during last week of June to 3rd week of September. Annual draft and training/rookie camp will also be held within this period. Both events especially the training/rookie camp should be televised.
          5. Televised pre-season games from late-September to early-October.
          6. New season on 2nd week of October.

4 possible titles and an almost all-year round television exposure by PBA and its clubs. This is my dream for PBA.

And these imports would still be subject to the 13'6" total height limit that Rodbi suggested.

Still, bahala ang team if they fill the 7 spots with FIBA-ineligible Fil-foreigners. This might strike a balance between making the league more competitive and giving the FIBA-eligibles more opportunity.
I think this rule change or a similar one is a little necessary to help improve our ability to compete in the EASL. Giving teams options on whether to use imports or trot out an All-Filipino lineup.

In addition, I think the PBA should allow these imports for a whole season para makapag-establish ng chemistry for the EASL and the PBA.

good move. at this point i'd consider trevis jackson a dud even with the departure of amer he didn't shine. maybe at RoS he gets a break.

It was a head scratching pick at the time when Mocon and Tratter were still available (unless you believe the Parks to Meralco rumor) when they need more firepower and bigmen. They should have traded this guy instead of Amer.

BW wanted amer afaik. and yes, meralco has this reputation of making stupid picks. would've been better to pick mocon over jackson.

At the time I was thinking they're going to pick Mocon since he already played with Amer at San Beda. Nope. Whoever is making these decisions needs to be fired

Mocon and Tratter would have fit them perfectly. Tratter would have been a nice successor to Hodge and Hugnatan. Rike would have provided them with size, but they decided to go the scorer's route (and probably who they thought was the best available) with Pasaol.

Man, MERALCO has botched a lot of draft picks. Bong Quinto has been their only good pick in recent years. But Pasaol, I wouldn't grade that just yet. Maybe he'll get more opportunities. But he'll have to change his game from a 6'2" tweener forward to an off-guard, like Mocon did.

Mocon is pretty athletic and is a good defender seeing how he's always tasked with defending the other team's best perimeter player. Pasaol is neither so he'll always be targeted in defence. Maybe they're optimistic that he can ave more points than what he gives up

I think Jackson was recommended by Gabe. According to an article by Mr. Rey Joble. So ROS seems pretty high on the guy. I think he may have the chance to get the starting PG spot since they really wanted to move Nambatac at the 2.

Trevis did well in the D League to be fair. But they should've gotten Tratter as they also got Quinto in the 2nd round who somewhat plays the same position as Mocon.
