  • Philippine Basketball Team website now up!

We're finally back! After a long hiatus when our site went down, we have redesigned the site and simply had it re-energized to take the Philippine National Basketball Team Website to new heights! We're here to stay to bring you the latest about what's new and what's not in our very own Team Pilipinas. Feel free to browse this site which brings you the hottest information about our basketball all-stars. For those who are new to this site, The Philippine National Basketball Team Website was a pioneer in the call for FIBA's attention in allowing our very own Team Pilipinas to play in all FIBA-sanctioned games. We started pledging our unrelenting support and statement since the 12th of August 2005.

    Check it out: www.philippinebasketballteam.it.tt

The site is still in beta stage. Player database (about a hundred) and commentary page and news archive will soon follow. Some of the pictures in the photo archive are still to be uploaded. The video between Lebanon and RP will be uploaded as soon as my webhost gives the go-signal to upload it. Legal issues! I'm still waiting for the response. Don't worry we're doing everything we can to speed everything up. Contributors and some positions in the site are up for grabs. PM me if you're interested and let's see if you may qualify for any position.

      We're back in the game!

Congrats to 11th Rock for his commitment and all-out support to Team Pilipinas!!! This despite the uncertainty brought about by FIBA's suspension.

I think we should revitalize our signature campaign, flaunt our numbers, and get the attention of all the parties concerned: POC, BAP, PBA and all other stakeholders, partisan sports columnists (Manolo Inigo and his self-defeatist ilk, e.g. Beth "Chismis" Celis) and even FIBA itself.

They should realize that, under the loud din of pathetic politicking and unproductive in-fighting, they are forgetting one very important stakeholder -- the Filipino fans. If we can get enough signatures (or members) into this campaign, we can throw our weight around and be heard. Let's spread the news!

If we are lucky, we might even earn a sports column at the Inquirer or Phil Star. Time to make some noise! We should make it clear that we are neither pro-POC nor pro-BAP (even if we hate them with all our heart). We should be an agent of unity and not further division.

Our immediate goals -- (1) lift the suspension and (2) advocate for the best team possible to play, starting with the Asian Games, in preparation for the Olympic qualifiers next year!!!

You're very right in telling that the biggest basketball stakeholders in the country today are the FILIPINO BASKETBALL FANS. I wanna see the RP NT strutting out their stuffs in the big leagues in the NEAREST future(i.e. Asian Games, FIBA Asia Championships, Olympics). The hell with those partisan sports columnist. They seemed to be not knowing anything with the basketball status with the country and what the BAP honchos been doing the past years.

Let's continue with the signature campaign and also, I know that many are doing the same thing. We might make a general campaign for this one to have a more concentrated strength.

Nice site! Pinoy ako! Talaga ba na lift na suspension natin sa FIBA? Makakalaro na tayo next year? WOW!!! Dapat si Philippine Team puro pilipino lng(as in pure bread) o 1-3 fil-am lang ilalagay ksi hindi naman fil-am team ito eh, team PILIPINAS ang team so dapat puro PILIPINO. SANA nga na lift na yung suspension.

My Roster for Phil. Team(not true, just my idea)

                  Asi Taulava(para may big man)
                  Enrico Villanueva
                  Japeth Aguilar(nasa NCAA Div. 1)
                  James Yap
                  Willie Miller
                  Kerby Raymundo
Alex Cabagnot(true FILIPINO but just grew up in U.S.A.)
                  Joseph Yeo
                  L.A. Tenorio
                  Ren-Ren Ritualo
                  Mick Pennisi(one more big man)
                  Lordy Tugade
                  Ali Peek(fil-am ba siya?)
                  Arwind Santos
                  J.C. Intal

Coach:Norman Black(kahit Americano naging coach naman na siya ng RP eh)
                  Asst Coach:Joel Banal
                  Asst Coach:Yeng Guiao
                  Asst.Coach:Chot Reyes

                  Hope that roster would happen!

                  Good Luck to TEAM PILIPINAS!!!
