Never been effective in international games and never made an impact but still the best power forward ever in PBA. He has the best footwork and post moves that every big man we have must learn. Greg and Junmar must be trained by him.

I just posted a video on my thread, Centennials vs. Iowa Hawkeyes. Watch the Captain back down into the paint 6'8 US collegiate defenders and score several times.

Fortunately no punches were landed and the proverbial cooler heads made awat kaagad so thats why no one was thrown out.

Frankie, eventually would be a valuable teammate of Alvin in 1993 when Purefoods finally threw out the SMB albatross out of the way by winning the all-Filipino conference and paving the way for Chot Reyes' PBA coaching career.

Cant imagine a national team without Patrimonio and Caidic in the lineup, that's why both were 4-time Asian Games campaigner, from 1986-1998, How I wish they were still included in the 2002 RP team lineup, its certain the two hall of famers will shoot free throws when needed most

Presto was the team that Purefoods met in the 1990 AFC Finals. Maybe it was the 1990 Reinforced Conference Finals when the Purefoods finally win a championships after 4 failures.

But going back, Cap had an altercation with Eric Reyes of Swift in which they were both thrown out in the 2nd quarter. Reyes later apologized to Cap.
I'm back. Don't ask why. Just be glad.

Disagree on this one. Patrimonio is a consistent contributor for RP team. During 1998 Asian games, patrimonio at barely 6-4 is double teramed at low post Chinese 6-7 Gong Xiaobin and 7 footer Shan tao

No, they lost that series. Just like the 1990 3rd conference finals, I kept score of the last game (unfortunately the only game of that series) with brilliant performances by Allan Caidic and Gerry Esplana. Alvin's first All Filipino championship happened the following year against Sarsi. My brother and I were lucky enough to keep score of that series and I will also be posting that series the soonest for all Alvin aficianados

I don't think you got my point there.
But anyway, Caidic did not play in Game 7 of the 1990 AFC as his hand got injured/fractured. The late Arnie Tuadles carried the fight that's why Presto won the championship.
But yes, Purefoods' first AFC title came the following season when they beat Sarsi, 3-2. Sarsi's players included Tanuan and Solis, who was a hero in that 1990 Reinforced Conference championship of Purefoods.

I am sorry if I was not able to get your point. Alvin and company indeed lost in 4 PBA finals before finally winning in the 1990 3rd Conference finals. I have a hard time distinguishing whether an import-laden conference is an Open Conference or a Reinforced All-Filipino Conference so I just call it 1st, 2nd or
                          3rd conference.

1988 - lost the first conference finals against San Miguel (with David Thirdkill) lost all Filipino finals against Ginebra.
1989 - lost all Filipino finals against San Miguel
1990 - lost all Filipino finals against Presto

As far as I am concerned the most devastating Alvin Finals Performance was in the 1997 All Filipino Finals against Ginebra. I believe he has 2 games there where he scored in the forties.

The most satisfying one for me is the 1993 all Filipino finals against San Miguel because they finally got over the hump against that team and it also featured Allan Caidic's first year for San Miguel after Presto disbanded, to whom they also lost in the 1992 All Filipino Finals. Rookie coach Chot Reyes was Purefoods coach in this finals.
