I hope so too, the more diversity the better.

To stay on topic, here's Zaid with his BBF on the last day:

But seriously based on what I read I think Abbas really enjoyed his time in Shanghai. He earned a nickname "Zorro" but I think people just call him "Z" now. (John Lucas calls him Borat ). The only thing he had some trouble was the food -- but given that Shanghai is a huge metropolitan with many ethnic restaurants, he survived.

There are reports that he will move to Beijing Ducks next season but a lot is up in the air now. I am pretty confident he will come back for another CBA season. He really won fans over with his play.

PS: Beijing is also in talks with 3 Chinese Taipei NT players for next season.

It ain't racist. Your bound to get looked down by other countries if you have dismal performances in the last decade. Let's see in the Asian Games if we could change that perception a bit.

im sure, abbas will only get better after this CBA tournament. he has the best training among his jordan NT team mates.

the CBA is a tough league with tall players and former NBA players.

any chance the CBA teams are getting other asian players from iran or the philippines next season?
they might want to get Mark Caguioa or jayjay helterbrand

Actually there were two other players from Chinese Taipei this CBA season: Hsu Hao-Cheng and Lin Kuan-Lun for Shanxi.

Among all of them, Abbas had the best performance by far, followed by Lin. Both were been big reasons their respective teams finished in the top 4. Fahed had OK stats but did not get his team the result expected. Khoury is no better than a very average Chinese player, and the other 4 Taiwanese players just sit on the bench mostly.

though he is only 203cm,he has an amazing 216cm long arm, which make him a very good rebounder.

Tough game for him but I still believe he'll do a lot better as the season goes along.
