  • ::: Jordanian Basketball Chaos , Until When ?! :::

Until when?? - Nov 22, 2009 (by Mohammed Malas)

Until when we will stay bleeding?? When our decision makers in Jordanian sports will think about putting an end for the current big mess around our basketball since last July (4 Months!!!!!!!)??...Why all that are happening to us?

A delegation from FIBA came at the beginning of this month to help with some suggestions to raise up the current situation ahead But nothing took place or some predictions concerning that until now!!!! No news, No updates, No NOTHING!!!!!..A dark future is still on the sky of basketball, Everyone are watching but seems nobody wants to wake up to save basketball from a possible huge drop in level and performance for our players and clubs who have nothing to do toward this big problem.

No season & no decisions concering that case till now with a big hope from me personally that a small light will rise soon despite those big dissapointments around....FIBA World Championship 'Turkey 2010' is on the doors and the national team must begin at least preperation plan in order to view in the best image ever in this big event...

Pray of us people of basketball all around the world...We need your prayers to keep sticking with our big hope...

Man .... we know the feeling. I hope that get's fixed fast. It would be terrible for you guys to experience the FIBA Suspension that we got when we had the same problem a few years ago. I know Coach Palma and the whole team really worked hard to reach Istanbul 2010, hope it does not go to waste. I think this chaos is a big reason Jordanians like Zaid Abbas is signing-up with CBA teams of China.

we see many teams qualifying to the WBC once and than slow down such as japan and qatar but only a few teams stay in the top 4 in asia every 2 years more specificly lebanon, china and iran ...Jordan is also under alot of loans because they overpayed to get to this level as they had to use their full potential and obviously more to be under all these debts . After what just happened i dont c them preparing at all for asia 2011 or 2013 or even WBC2010cuz they simply dont have the money or the talent to reach the level without the money as u can tell from the last decade when they did not really overpay and never reached the semis until this year when they used everything they had and more also ....they will still go to asian competitions but it will be hard for them to enter the final 4 again without being under any debts....to reach the top once is easy(not hard as they say) as many countries including kazakhaztan did it but to stay in the semis time after time for the last decade is very hard and i can only think of 1 team whos done it since 2001 .

Do you want to convince me that Lebanon did not pay huge money for FIBA asia 2009 in Tianjin >? Yes they did and got 4 players abroad with Money ...
So Money makes everything and it is the thing your country in it's 15 years basketball history !!!!

So now you say that lebanon did not do the best to get a card to world championship !!?? and now don't they do the best to get that Wild Card !!
If you say NO , then what prevents your NT to go to world championship ? don't tell me the wrong whistle in China's Game cause the next day we have beaten you and that was the Game which made lebanon out of Race not China's Game !!
Don't tell me that your players where exhausted after china's game in the semis and that what made Jordan Win !!! cause we played against IRAN the title holders the day before and lost hardly in the last seconds with 2 pts and the other day Iran Ate China Without SALT !!!!!!

You are talking about 80 years of basketball history in Jordan , you are talking about country who brought basketball to Middle east , We where the Arab Champions in the 70's and 80's , When No basketball exists in Some Countries!

By the way , let's see what will happen in the Future
and stop your Hatred for Jordan , cause we still Neighbors before we are Brothers in Blood !!!

just wanna remind you that Lebanon participated in the Euro champs during the 40s and 50s so please dont throw words without being sure.
And all the progress and the developpement in the region was a result for the big investment that started in LEBANON.

For Jordan,i swear that i want them to participate cz they deserve it and you made big efforts in order to play there and its your right.I just hope you will be smarter and solve the latest crisis sooner so the participation in the Fiba World Championship will be as good as you people hope.

            Good luck!

yes true but lebanon paid less than a million cuz they did the paying in the last month jordan have been investing for years and i think its 14 million what i heard so huge difference ....and yes omar u opened my eyes on something if leb did not lose to china cuz of that whistle we mite not even see jordan in the WBC cuz they might have lost against china in the 3rd-4th game i know u thought about that and when i talk about history lebanon has been in the WBC twice and preolympics in the last few years and even got 4th this year which is also not bad im not talking about the 1950s when there was only a few basketball teams in the world to start with and everyone who had basketball qualifies directly to the WBC .

Well , it's not 14 million hehe , Mr Kakhia was exaggerative as usual
                  it's about 2-3 millions in 5 years ( the Ex-Federation Era ) .......

Ma Friend I Hope that We gather in Turkey 2010 , that's a fact and let Forget the past , at the End it's a Sport

I hope also that the Vacant we live in Basketball in Jordan Be Filled in the next 2 weeks and Lebanon gets the WildCard For Sure

I dont see lebanon being picked by fiba not even over countries like korea and japan cuz its all about money and the larger markets but good luck to ur country I would still be cheering for jordan since they are an arab country who helped us with our 2006 WBC preperations when we had war so that was nice and some of the players there seem like true gentlemen like rasheem wright, ayman deis and sam daghlas and I wanna c them do well

Lebanon was the country to introduce basketball to the rest of the middle east in the 20's of the last century. Also participated in Euro championship in the 40's and 50's. Back then there was no african or asian championship.

i would just like to say that the lebanese NT was never driven forward by a budget but rather by the bball loving lebanese people of lebanon.
remmember in the 2002 WC when lebanon had the lowest budget at around 100k $ wich was the accumalation of donations , nigeria had the 2nd lowest budget at 500k $
we never really had any real finnacial support, maybe if we had some from the start we wouldnt be were we are right now.

guys money is a problem but the main problem is that we aren't training enough!
i mean plzzz matt freije left the team and came back in the latest games of jones cup the same thing goes for vroman. Daniel didn't even train with us he came in the philippines camp i dt think 3 or 4 days of training is enough
well you see my friends maybe we had a small budjet the federation did his job but u can't just use the lebaense abroad excuse to shut our mouth up, well those players didn;t even train with us so dt expect anyth from them. Maybe next year, if they came on the right time, we can argue and discuss about our failure if god forbids we lost but right now it doesn't have any sense.

Anws hope the jordanians solve their problem. They deserve to be in the WC they played gd basketball, they worked hard and they are gd brothers for the lebanese.

NB: As for the arabic basketball history i guess its quite obvious that the first arabic country was egypt as for the middle east it was lebanon with its participation in the euro championship i guess he participated twice.
Lebanon mother land of the phoenicians! 7000 years of culture and history and still BEIRUT is "PARIS OF THE MIDDLE EAST"
