I don't know how good Tunisia is, but beating them should not be impossible.
It would be good to see how we play against Croatia 2 years later. One thing I'm sure of, and that is we won't lose by 34 this time (57-91).
FALSENEWS is not a reliable source! I know they have some invitations from some euorpean countires but they still didn't finalize anything !

2010 will be a tough year for our NT, World Champs (in September) + Asian Games (in November) plus stupid Islamic Games

first I hope these idiots (Saeidloo and Sajadi) let Mashhoun to do his job ! they already changed many federations (Swimming, Table tennis, Cycling and etc) and There is many rumors about Basketball and Volleyball federations !

second I hope Mr Mashhoun (this time Reza Mashhoun) forget his personal problems with the players ! they didn't invite Tajik to the NT because of that but he joined the team some days before the Jones Cup due to some special reasons and you saw how he was useful in Tianjin.

we had two very bad matches against Australia and Croatia in Beijing ! I think any team can kill us with full court press ! our players are physically weak and we have many problems against the big teams ! we won full squad Lithuania in the first quarter but they killed us at the end because of our weak bench. (man yadame bad az bazi ke bazikona mosahebe mikardan Hamed afagh va haddadi rooye pashoon nemitoonestan vaisan az khastegi !!)

what do you think ? which one is weaker ? Slovenia, Croatia or Brazil ?

They are not really talented but they do play a good defense (boxing match).
they dont have too many key players so if you were in your mid level day,you can take them by 10pts!
Good to know, thanks for the info Dani.

Hopefully they won't change Mahmoud Mashhoon, right now it's the worst time for making changes.

I think I read an interview from Reza Mashhoun a few days ago somewhere and he was saying that we will have a 4-team tournament in Tehran and we will invite non-Asian teams over.
As you said he should put aside his problems with players. it's Team Melli afer all and personal problems shouldn't interfere with preparations.

Hopefully they have a program to increase their stamina, I remember in the olympics they usually played a great game in the first quarter, but after that they couldn't keep-up with the other teams it was most visible in the 4th quarter. I think Haddadi and Kazemi (if he is invited, and I think he should be) wouldn't have much physical problem, given the trainings they go through (but college Basketball in US would be over by 13-bedar).

I wasn't aware of that Satria. If there is such a rule, does this rule also apply to foreign players?
Andy Rautins has been playing for both team Canada and Syracuse Orange without havng to sit out a season as far as I know

They are not so talented but they have very good outside game and as Dany said a good Defense and as all African teams they are kind of aggressive

the ncaa player must not receive any compensation with his stint in a national team thats the rule i guess... so maybe ali kanaan didnt receive any money from lebanon

yes I know but You should not take this news serious ! world class teams never come to play in Iran.

but it seems 10 countries are interested to play with Iran.
Spain, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Turkey, Australia, France, New Zealand, Canada and Greece.

                  • Turlock grad Koochoie second in team scoring Buzz up!

Turlock High graduate Benny Koochoie said he's slowly but surely adjusting to life in Iran's pro basketball league.

Koochoie said he is second in team scoring for Saba Mehr, behind former NBA Developmental League player Terrence Shannon. The team is third in Iran Super League play after nine weeks.

Koochoie is excited about next year's FIBA World Championships in Turkey, where it was announced this week the Iran national team is in Group B with Croatia, Brazil, Tunisia, Slovenia and the United States.

"I'll get to play against Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade and do some networking," Koochoie said. "When I get home I'm going to invest in myself and get the best training I possibly can (to prepare)."

                    ----

Isn't it slightly ahead of himself to say that he will be playing in the NT. Surely he isn't as good as Kamrani, Davari or even Davoudi?

I can't compare him with these others because I didn't see him playing enough to make a good judgment. but I believe in the coach, I am sure he will pick the best players. I think only 6 players (Haddadi, Samad, Afagh, Kamrani, Sahakian and Davari) have a guaranteed place in the team. the rest didn't play that well in Tianjin.

regarding your second question kredito, each week they broadcast one of the games live(usually the most interesting one) on Channel 3(irib3). iran.tv usually does live streaming but sometimes it doesn't work, you can also google irib3, some random websites do live streaming. the games are usually 4:00pm (Tehran time) on Thursdays.
