for the Greek Guy ,we are naturalizing a player wich Fiba allowed every NT for Naturalizing 1 player to help the team specially that we as lebanese are only 4 million person and we lack C position so we naturalized an American C wich we are allowed to do and fiba know that like Russia with Holden ...

It's amazing. FIFA does not limit the number of naturalized players a team can use, but they have very strict rules on who can be naturalized (put in place after Qatar wanted to sign a team full of Brazilians IIRC). And yet they're going to have a blatantly cheating team at a World Cup.

Equatorial Guinea is about to play in the women's soccer World Cup this week. Any guesses on how many of their players are actually from Brazil? From other countries in West Africa?

THE Matildas leave this afternoon for the Women's World Cup in Germany where, along with heavyweights Brazil and Norway, they face an Equatorial Guinea side around which controversy has swirled in the past two years.

Regarding Ngombo: He will be cleared by the NBA, because he sent them a copy of his Qatari passport. Since there is no virtual proof of wrong-doing as there is no other (Congolese) passport around, he will be okayed.

I'm sorry, but not only Givony is getting all the credit for finding this whole fake-qatari-age-cheating-thing...now he is getting a copy of the fake passport as well. OF COURSE THE PASSPORT WILL BE DISPLAYING 1989 AS THE DATE OF BIRTH ON IT, that's why Ngombo was able in the first place to play for Qatar. They allegedly fixed his birthdate back then in 2006 from 1984 (Congolese passport) to 1989 (Qatari passport). So the copy is worthless.
I guess, Minnesota is trying to save their face with this. Philo, you got punk'd...draft Ashton Kutcher instead!
To play for the under-18 team of Qatar? Lol!! Take note also that BISMACK BIYOMBO the 7th pick of the Bobcats has also an age rumors and before he ended in Spain, Biyombo flied to Qatar to try out for a professional team or maybe the Qatar basketball federation had planned to make him a Qatar citizen and make him younger by 5 years..

Tanguy/Targuy Ngombo - The Follow Up

As Ngombo (Targuy or Tanguy) continues to make headlines regarding his age I thought I needed to post a follow up to the post I put up a few days ago. I first need to apologize for my delay in doing this, family vacation in Hawaii has just begun and it is hard to juggle writing and beach time.

This post has three parts: some thoughts from people associated with Tanguy, a brief discussion looking a little deeper at the name and date of birth debacle, and a brief rant directed at FIBA.

To start of with I thought that looking deeper at Ngombo's game was still needed, as the game footage of Ngombo is lacking. I felt it would be beneficial to ask people who have played with or coached Tanguy about his strengths, weaknesses, and their general thoughts on him being drafted. I received three good responses.
