I know there are mixed feelings about him and his attitude might not have been the most ethical one but he did a whole lot for Iranian basketball. I really think he paved the way for many of the successes.

i understand that toroman is not very popular among iranian basketball fans right now because of his statement that filipinos are more talented players than iranians. on its face, this statement would really seem hurtful. but i dont think that toroman intended to get personal with his former wards.

I don't think so ! he trained only 2 or 3 months with the team before the Asian Champs. Iranian basketball success started before he came to Iran and he was just a small part of the team.

IMO a good coach can't do anything special to a senior team in less than 3 months ! (you can't teach basketball to a 25 yo player !!) but a bad coach can destroy a good team, and Toroman just wasn't a bad coach ! but he is a liar !

We just don't have the proper system in our NTs, until Rajko came. I hope he could turn things around, just like what he did in Iran. BTW, Iranians should not be ashamed of Toroman, they owe him a lot.
before you say that, make sure Smart Gilas would win the championship on the following Asian Championship.
