Tarek seems to be a great player and scorer.
It's nice to see that during this year we have quite a few players whom were drafted in the NCAA Division 1. This is great news for basketball in Lebanon.

Tarek got a lot of offers for the best colleges in US like West Virginia ,Syracruse,Duke and others.
Tarek before leaving to US was playing with Anibal Junior team which mean that we still exporting a very good players.
Tarek is now in lebanon, spending a holiday with his family in Zahle before leaving to US.

R u sure that he got offers from these universities?
If he did then why did he join Loyola Marymount?
Syracuse won the NCAA Championship in 2004 when Carmelo Anthony played with them (Rony Seikaly also used to play there ) and they are one of the best. Virginia Tech and Duke always qualify to the advanced stages in the March Madness and also have great basketball programs.
Loyola Marymount are a decent team but the other teams mentioned above are much better.

Well,if you want i can give u the forum of virginia Tech where they were talking about recruiting Tarek, and what was the problem behind not signing with him.
Maybe Tarek found that college much better than the others from the education side,i dont know but i'm sure many colleges were interested in him, virginia especially.
It is worth to say that Loyola Marymount also were interested in Bassel Bawji (204-F-89).

I've seen Ammoury play a number of times, he is a very tough player. In high school he got a lot of rebounds and points on the inside as he is very strong for his size, will have to be more of a perimeter player in college.

Thank you JGX, my friend told me that hes a great penetrator who can handle the ball pretty well. His body is really great, very similar to khatib's one but lesser in 3 or 4 cm.
Is he a good shooter ?

His grades were not very good and his applications got screwed up so he has to go to Marymount not Loyola Marymount and Marymount is a division 3 school but he will transfer after a year to D1. He is incredibly skilled and has a good work ethic. His shot is improving a lot but needs to work on pulling up because he such an excellent slasher to the hoop that people sit and wait for him in the lane to try and get a charge. His senior season he took over his shot was looking better and he was starting to become much more vocal and more of a leader. If you have any other questions let me know because I am good friends with tarek and both his brothers.
                      Hi

Thank you very much for your contribution?

Do you know why Tarek wasn't called up to the Lebanese U18 NT that preparing for the Asian Championship?

hey man thanks for the correction and for this description.Im really happy about it.but its really sad that his grades played a major role against him being in the first D1 College.
I was really attracted by his stats during these 3 years with Mclean,i hope he will play some day for Lebanon.
My question please,is this true that tarek was getting interest from Virginia Tech,Duke and others ??

Would appreciate if u could ask Tarek whether there is a possibility that he might come back to play b-ball in Lebanon.

Here a quote from Tarek ammoury from the internet:

All I want is to keep getting better. Maybe I'd want to play in Lebanon after college. But my goal right now is a Division I scholarship. I think I have a chance at that.”

Tarek will probably come play in lebanon but he didn't this summer because there was so much confusion with his college because at first he wasn't even enrolled but the coach at Marymount knew he was good and pulled some strings. tarek is still playing aau and has really focused on getting better. Lebanon will have a very good player in the upcoming years especially know that he is going to be getting good teaching from a college coach
Hey,thanks Draindubz for these news. Its really nice to know that about tarek. We were asking for Tarek to be included into the youth team roster that will participate in the asian championship for U18,tarek can fit on pos 2 and 3 which will help a lot.
I really hope that he goes to D1 College where he can improve fastly.
I hope you will stay us,we need to know all the updates about Tarek.
