iran led early by a 15 points but japan has made a big run, jap 29 - 31 iran at halftime

With nothing to lose and everything to gain in their rematch vs Iran, Japan is expected to play inspired basketball all throughout this game.

Makoto Hiejima was awesome yesterday with 28 points, 22 in the 1st half. Too bad he ran out of gas in the 4th. But still, this Japanese team is the humblest one I have ever seen in my life.

Rematch of the Round 1 game between Iran and Japan.

Iran demolished Japan in that game by 38 points.

The golden age of Iranian basketball is probably over.

Hats off to Japan for going as far in the semis without any naturalized players and some of their key players.
