This reminds me of FIBA Asia 2001 when Japan and Qatar met. Qatar won 74-65. Yuta Tabuse is the only active player from that Japanese team although the likes of Kazuya Hatano are still active in the domestic league but retired from the NT.

so that means for those playing this year, yuta tabuse has been in the seniors NT earlier than taulava, hontiveros, liu wei, and tien lei who were with their respective senior NTs in 2002 asian games. talk about longevity.
Not really, but I don't like our chances vs Qatar because they're a big, athletic bunch. At least we know already how to play Japan. Even if they summon their inner Generation of Miracles aura if we face them again, I still like our chances of beating Japan en route to the Finals as long as we are not complacent.
