101-98 Qatar. 5 seconds remaining. Lebanon now playing the FT game.

How sad. We won't see Taiwan beating China on their home floor ever again.

Matic lost the plot, complete moron. If he wasn't hating on ahmad ibrahim and benching him..I would accuse him of total bias for riyadi players. Then again, he is benching Ahmad ibrahim for sake of riyadi player in abdel nour.
Arakji is not better then Rodrique Akl. His low IQ for a point guard, missing free throws, committing dumb fouls costed us this game.

All this loss on Arakji, Matic, and Youngblood not playing on foreigner level like Qatari foreigner did . We lost the foreigner matchup badly today.

        105-100 Qatar. Taiwan is out.

I feel sad for both Lebanon and Taiwan right now.

why is ali (bonzi wells) of qatar still playing? wasn't he disqualified during fiba asia 2011 along with targuy ngombo?

what a game, great performance by the johnson guy in the qatar team, i just don't know why leb blew the huge lead. they just did a philippines by being too confident on their game, anyway, nice game though (y) too many heroes too in the qatari team, energy in the qatari team from 3rd q to ot was great!

                  My take on the game:
                  - late decisions by matic and weak in game adjustments. Nadim did not get any playing time.
                  - Jay youngblood playing an average game with no cluch finish.
                  - wael making many amateurish mistakes due to lack of experience.
                  - teams getting surprised by Lebanon early on due to the lack of info on the lebanese team then adjusting in the 2nd half after getting a clear picture. ( same scenario in the 2 games)
                  - amir killer instinct from outside is absent when under pressure.
                  - Jay and wael missing clutch free throws.
                  - qatar sending us to overtime with only 4 assists all game long.

best game of the tournament so far
Before: I will easily beat him, God will deliver him into my hands!

After: I had a shoulder injury!

Missed 5 FT:s to start the 2nd OT, before Ali hit b2b treys. The first was lazy defended by abdelnour iirc, the 2nd one was a lucky one. We blew this game. And we dont have any rim protector, pick and roll defense is bad, so think we're getting exploited in this tournament under the basket, no one to send that qatari kid on his ass. Jay must step up more to win ball games.

Watched it today on the replay. Some observations: Lebanon is a better team but it failed big time in the second half mentality- and strategy-wise. They lack interior presence and good 1-on-1 defenders among their backcourt players. Both of these were crucial when 19 y.o. Abdulrahman Saad just consistently ripped Lebanese defense with his slashes to the basket. Saad made the biggest impact on the result of this game as he was such a terrific energizer and Qatar started to played some defense only after that spark of energy from Saad simultaneously turning their -18 deficit into +4 proficit. If he would be able to expand his shooting range, then this young guy could be a really excellent player. His slashing ability is great already.

Clinton Johnson was good for Qatar while extremely fat Bonzi-Ali Wells was bad (almost) all game long, especially with his nonexustent defense. Yet the latter's 3 free throws allowed Qatar to even the score at the end of regulation time and in the second overtime his back-to-back threes decided the game.

By the way, when Johnson played in his 'me vs the world' mode in the first half, Qatar struggled but when Saad and one of the guys with a name like Irfan step up and Johnson was relieved of his 'the only offensive option for Qatari team' status, Qatar started to look much better and Johnson was quite instrumental in organizing good ball movement.

The group F looks really exciting for AsiaBasket's level

P.S. I won't be overly critical towards Araklji. He's young, so his nervousness and some bad decisions made can be attributed t his lack of experience. But I think that he is a player with a really good upside.

That foul could have been a let go as there was no way Bonzi Ali will make that shot..

And Ali Saad is wearing a Accel headband?
