To be fair to Singapore, many of their main players are not playing due to other commitments (Russel Low and Larry Liew). This team is in fact a downgrade from the previous SEA games team. Also, the average age of this team is only 23 (same age as the cadets that gilas sent to the SEABA and SEA games), so you can only imagine how raw their game would be vs the veterans of Asia. It will be a good learning experience for them.

I think Singapore will win via a .4 second tip-in dunk by Delvin Goh over Yi Jianlian.

Even if you send your best players the outcome would be the same. No point in making excuses.

I'm not making excuses, did I say we will win if we send our best players? You put that in my mouth. Realistically we would lose all games, only possible teams we COULD beat are malaysia maybe HK or Kuwait...(But then again those teams are still favourites against singapore with the depleted roster)

What? Where the heck did I say that you will win? I know you will lose regardless even if you send your best players so there's no need to mention Singapore having a depleted lineup, or it's made up of under 23 players, or it's a downgrade from its SEA team. Your words not mine!

Then what the hell does the sentence above means? Did I say this is our excuse, if not we will win? This is a bloody forum, I can post whatever I want anyway. Who are you to say I can't mention some things? If you don't want to know then just read something else, I am just informing others.

                Now, now, guys.

Honestly, it doesn't even matter whether SIN can beat CHN or not, what matters is the development it gives to this young Singapore team. Give them a legit bigman (naturalized or otherwise) and maintain their core, and they're good to go.

Look at the Chinese Taipei model. When they had the core of their current team in 2001, many criticized it for being too young. Now fast forward 14 years, these players who were young back then are now reaping the fruits of their labor as veterans, and they are now mentoring a new generation of players for their team using all the experience they gathered all those years.

If SIN could at least get some examples from the TPE model, I think they can help popularize basketball in Singapore.

Okay, since mentioning my country's depleted roster is considered an excuse to you. Then why are you posters always mentioning that Gilas 3.0 is not the best team you can put up? Why keep mentioning that you do not have Fajardo, Paul Lee, Lassiter etc and that SMC won't lend you players? Isn't that excuse too? I can even memorize all the things that you would say when you lose since its always rehashed in the phillipine thread till the cows come home:

                    1) We always have bad habit of playing to our opponents standard
                    2) We are just having first game jitters
                    3) Our coach fault for playing the same rotation till exhaustion
                    4) We do not have best lineup, SMC won't lend us players.

Also, when you guys lose by a "single digit" you will treat it like a win. Like how you all lose to Argentina and Croatia but you all are so proud of it like as if you have beaten them LOL. Who cares if you are close for 3 quarters? A loss is a loss.
