        PHI vs BAH

A sidelight to this game is the reunion, albeit on opposite sides, of college teammates JV Casio (PHI) and Bader Malabes (BAH).

The tournament is actually shaping up nicely for the Philippines. Qatar is out. Lebanon has a B team. Jordan has looked poor. 15-point loss to China is not really a bad result and if you were more experienced in FIBA play you'd say you were saving your real gameplan for the knockout stages. Top three is a at least a possibility.

Bahrain (Bad-brain?) is really bad. I am playing the over 144 in this game and looking for points.

The Philippines made very few plays vs. China but against teams like UAE and Birdbrain they look great.

Muhammed Ali is the Greatest. Down goes the jumper! Down goes the jumper!

Oh, didn't dyed blonde hair go out of style circa 2003?

Bahrain's free throws are an adventure. I don't think I've ever seen someone bank in the first free throw and the next one bank off the board without hitting the rim.

I agree with everything you said except about the 15 point loss to China. The game was not competitive and was over by halftime. The lineup the PHilippines put on the court was just too small. They could not compete with the size of China. In order to play with China they will have to try a different lineup.

Easy winner with the OVER 144 as they combine for more than 170 points.

Yes. But hey, Asi was playing his BEST basketball when he had that hairstyle back then. Perhaps he's trying every thing he can to turn back the clock. Hehehe. No knock on Asi though, he's playing with a lot of heart despite age and injuries having slowed him down considerably.
