I just think that If your NT are forced to fight with korea, japan for 2 seeds and lost .Your NT can not play in Asian Championship .
I think your NT will miss the south east subzones .
I say again just wait for the FIBA asia.
correct. because rp was 9th placed during last fiba-asia.
south korea was placed 4th and automatically to join fiba-asia even if deadlast this east-asia.
moved to china but china is automatically because of host country in this tournament.
    and then moved to taiwan.

hey pinoys, please understand this rule

this news is like giving hope to taiwan basketball fans about their nt chances, no facts given but highly possible because you admit taiwan is good but not agreat team like korea iran china or lebnon and rp that these can countries can easily beat them
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

There ain't no such rule, 6 teams automatically qualifies due to their participation from the Stankovic Cup and being host of the tourney. Now what happens is that each zone will be given 2 slots for qualification for the championships. so if do the your math 6 + ( 2 slots x 5 zones) = 16 teams for the tourney.

Korea wasn't even part of the Stankovic cup so that makes them participate in the East Asian Championships so that they can be qualified to join the Asian Championships.

You must be referring to the old rule of qualification. This time the 5 teams who participated in the Stankovic Cup have automatic qualification while the top 5 teams of last edition's tournament as well as the other teams need to go through subzone qualifiers. As host, china already has a slot. The top 4 teams of last edition Iran, Lebanon, Korea, and Kazakhstan are seeded to Group A, B, C, and D respectively.

            Last news !
Chinese Taipei will play in the Asian Championships to replace the Bahrain NT
            from the gulf areas subzones.
Because the Bahrain NT disclaim their seed.

Because Chinese Taipei had good performance in last Asian Championship in 2007 6th.
That is the FIBA asia 's answer.

Well, that's Exactly what Fiba just did with Mexico, they got a "free ticket" (like you called) it to FIBA AMERICAS CHAMPIONSHIP when countries like Colombia and Panama ended up in the same place in their Qualification Tournament.

well, that's good news for Chinese-Taipei. i feel they deserved a slot in the upcoming FIBA-Asia tourney. i wish they will be grouped with our NT.

that's also good news to us as we will have a chance to see those cute girls cheering for their team.

well they are a good team so i think they deserve it, its unfair for teams who wants to qualify but failed in their own zones like Malaysia or Oman. They should have placed a a wildcard berth or something.

it may be more fishy if Dato will give a free pass to Malaysia.
