Japan has been training this month for this tourney despite the FIBA ban; hopeful that the ban will be lifted prior to the draw, where Japan will be eliminated officially.

Promising is Soichiro Inoue, who has decent post moves and is mobile enough to run and gun. Big guard Hisashi Dasilva is almost the same height of some of the forwards like Nishida and Shimajiri. Japan has this emerging trend of compact sized fours that can shoot. While guards are getting bigger, the bigmen are not.

Things look bad again for the Lebanese U16 NT as they are barely practicing even though the team is very talented... There are rumors that the federation might withdraw at the last minute just like they did with the Woman Asian Championship.. I really hope this won't be the case!
