Aside from the league merger, Japan Taskforce will also further the development of the youth.

To be fair with the JBA, they have a good program for the youth. Products such as Kosuke Kanamaru, Naoto Tsuji, Yuki Togashi and Yuta Watanabe were all members of the U16, U18 and U24 once. The JBA also created basketball activities and clinics per prefecture with revolving coaches. Kenichi Sako helped in identifying tall prospects among the youth. There was also the elite bigman academy that trained tall kids.

What is happening with the upcoming season then? The same two different leagues as it was 14/15?

That is the plan for now as there are no notice of postponement for the NBL and BJ-League. The upcoming JPBL or Japanese Professional Basketball League is accepting letter of intent from teams within the NBL and BJ-League to apply for the unified domestic league.

The good news is that all the NBL, NBDL and BJ-League teams have fielded registrations for the upcoming merged league said to be called JPBL or Japanese Pro Basketball League.

Kawabuchi Saburo will attend the FIBA Central Board meeting to explain the progress and depending on FIBA's decision, the ban could be lifted soon.
