Lebanese basketball federation decided to withdraw from William Jones Cup citing problems in financing as well as no availability of the top players with the team as the main reasons for the withdrawal... Very shameful and shitty excuses if you ask me

Oh my! What's happening to Lebanese basketball? I thought things are getting better after the lifting of suspension. No FIBA-Asia Cup, then no Jones Cup. The FIBA-Asia Cup would have been more interesting with Lebanon's participation.
Why are the players not available? Isn't the Lebanese pro league already on its off-season? And by this time players are usually in training camp with the national team.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Things aren't going well... There's a lot of work that needs to still be done even after the suspension was lifted! The members of the federation are not being able to agree amongst themselves... The head of all NT's (Mr. Nazih Bawji) resigned as he said he doesn't see this federation having any vision for the future...
The Lebanese NT hasn't played in any tournament since last years' Jones Cup...
Lebanese league is in it's offseason which ended very late (mid-June)... Some players got / will get married, some are injured or recovering from injuries, others have left the country to go on vacation.... This year there is no major qualifying event but this doesn't justify withdrawing from such a tournament.
We still have many young talented players who can represent Lebanon in the Jones Cup and they could gain valuable experience by playing..... I don't know what this federation is doing...
