The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association have announced that Chou Jun-san will be the head coach of the Men's National Team and it is believed that Chou will eventually name Yen Chia-hua as assistant coach.

Yen, alongside the CTBA are still recruiting Golden State Warriors point guard Jeremy Lin and NCAA Division II BYU-Hawaii guard Jet Chang to reinforce the pool. Both have still not committed.

From my understand Jet Chang(G 6'4) will play 2011 Asia Championship for sure, also our 3 star players who play at CBA this season. They are Lee Hsueh-Lin(G 5'9) / Lin Chih-Chieh(F 6'4) / Chen Hsin-An(F 6'5). Coach Chou also said our big three boys must join and play this time, they are Tseng Wen-Ting(C 6'9) / Wu Tai-Hao(C 6'9) / Tien Lei(F 6'8).

Except Jeremy Lin, the above 7 players will be our main players this year. If Jeremy join our team for sure, then he will become the Ace for our team. He already signed the years of sponsorship for Taiwan Nike, and Taiwan Nike is working on Jeremy Lin to join our team at moment. I believe it would be some chance to wait Jeremy's answer, let's just wait and see.

Thanks for your valuable information. Sounds like a good core. I really do hope Lin joins the NT.

          Tseng - the long-haired guy?
Tien Lei - man this guy could torch you with treys all day
Wu Tai-Hao - This guy posterized Ha Seung Jin right?

The only thing you could expect from the CT NT is it's unpredictability.
Looking at the last two FIBA Asia tournaments, they finished 6th last 2007 and 5th in 2009, despite only being a wild card entry.

KJ, is this year's roster same almost the same or exactly the same as last year? Nearly beat Iran last year. I think Iran only had a four point lead. Demolished Japan and beat Qatar and Korea...

I won't say what happened between our NTs two years ago. hehehe

It seems Lin will not join NT training right away as Lin is planning to hold a basketball camp in Palo Alto, CA from June 27 to July 1. Lin has been very busy of late on organizing his summer camp.

I'd like to hear the words from Lin himself on thoughts about joining the Chinese Taipei NT. Somebody should ask Lin on his twitter (twitter.com/jlin7).

Seated in blue is the new head coach Chou Cun-San who was once upon a time the leader in assist in the CBA.

I don't know what happened to Lee Hsueh-Lin since the CBA ended but he looks even darker than the so-called "Blackie" Chen Chien-Chou (seated, in black), who just a day after his high-profile wedding is reporting as the team manager.

Chen Hsin-An, who rode the pine in the CBA and was not named to the team the past 2 years, has been named the captain, as he is the oldest player. I don't know if this means he'll make the final roster.

As this video shows, he still has some game left. But his 3p% in the past season was 2/44=5%, this has to be the worst in CBA history.

Meanwhile, "Jet" Chang Tsung-Hsien, who hasn't reported to the team, gets some love from ESPN:

Head coach Chou Jun-san said that Tien Lei and Chang Chih Feng are not expected to play in the FIBA East Asia Tournament due to injuries while Tseng Wen-Ting who is currently playing in the BJ-League Final Four with Osaka Evessa said that he will join the team after the East Asia Tournament.

Only 19 players attended the camp. Aside from the three I mentioned, Jet Chang and Chou Yi-Hsiang are still in the United States.

While the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association admits that Jeremy Lin of the Golden State Warriors will not be in the FIBA East Asia. But still hopes to have Lin in the FIBA Asia Olympic Qualifiers.
