  • Global Pinoy (other Filipinos in other sports)

In search for Fil-Am ballers, I came across with other Fil-Ams o Fil-Fors whom also making wave outside the Philippines. Some of them are totally new to me.

    Rodney Davies

Rodney Davies born 18 May 1989 in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia is a rugby union player who is currently signed to the Queensland Reds. Rodney Davies attended Ipswich Grammar School, the same school Reds team mate Berrick Barnes attended. He is of Filipino descent.[1]

A noted flier, Davies has a rugby union and sprinting background but in his first senior year of league in 2007 topped his team’s try-scoring list in the Queensland Cup.[2]

In 2009 Davies commenced his rugby union career with the Queensland Reds.[3] On 28 March, 2009, Davies debuted against the Chiefs in his first Super 14 game, a game in which 21,000 people were in attendance. The Chiefs won the game, a loss made all the more heartbreaking by a disallowed try that would have given Davies his first test try.

    Dennis Cagara

Dennis Mengoy Cagara (born February 19, 1985) is a Filipino-Danish professional football player, who currently plays as a left back, at AGF Aarhus. Cagara has played a total 43 games and scored five goals for various Danish youth national teams, including six games for the Denmark national under-21 football team.

Dennis has an older brother, Sunny Cagara, who is an entertainer who participated in Talent 2009 (the Danish version of America's Got Talent).

    Jerry Lucena

Jerry Ruben Lucena (born 11 August 1980) is a Danish-Filipino professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus. His father is Filipino and mother is Danish. He came to AGF from Esbjerg fB in 2007.

A UC Berkeley(Cal Bears) point guard is rumored to be Filipino-American. So far, I think its Jerome Randle. That is one major talent that we can't pass up. 18 ppg, 46.7% three point shooting for the season, 87% free throw shooter, All-Pac-10 first team and an All-American candidate, has a good chance getting drafted to the NBA. He is another 5'10 PG though. I can't be sure about his Pinoy lineage but I got the idea from a Yahoo answers account that asked about whether girls find him attracted and whether J. Randle is NBA-level talent. (Although that guy listed himself at 6'0")
