          My first post

It was a very big surprise for me that Arroyo signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv. I thought that Spain was his main target because he had played there before and because of his native language, which is Spanish.

I know that Arroyo will be a great player for this team and that he will have a very strong season!

Looking forward to learn more about the Maccabi team and about the Euroleague as a whole.

Any Spanish speaking Forums that you know of? Please!

Great signing. Me and all the other Puerto Rican Jews are smiling.

And yes, Tel Aviv isn't in Europe...

                      Primera Hora.Com Article
His first option was the NBA.
He talked with Denver, Miami, Sacramento, San Antonio and Golden State.
He didn't like the offers by neither of those teams.
"The issue is that I didn't like the offers and the better offer economically was from Maccabi"
"To me the most important thing is to be in a place where i can feel comfortable, and this is a positive step on my career"

                      Endi.Com Article
He pretty much said that he wont play in the puertorrican league.
He's healthy from the injury that kept his away from the Germany game.
One of the reasons he signed in Europa was because of playing time.
He desired to be the team leader again.
He also had offers from Russia, Italy and Spain.
"The most important thing is that we reached a deal were i feel comfortable. And that im going to a team where im going to play. It's a traditional club and is respected in Europe. I'm really happy about it."

The Arroyo signing made the cover of the 3 biggest newspapers on the island, and one of the covers was full page.

He was referring to sportive Europe. Geografically, Israel isn't in Europe for sure.

I'm disappointed. I know that some Puerto Ricans here (I'm looking at K2) dislike Arroyo, but I think he's fantastic. I'd like to see him play more in the NBA. Anyhow, I suppose he made the best decision for himself, not for me.

I'd say that this year European teams have drained North America.
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

there was a nice article about that in basketnews, i mean, draining Americas, but, i don't have it right now, maybe if I'm very courageous I'll translate it, but, the guy writes in a very nice ways, and says that it's like if a hen had a byte over a fox let alone in a hen house. Well, he explains more than that, but, I think his vision is quite realistic.
                            It's a bird? It's a plane? No, it's Rudy!

                              Wow!
I wouldn't have expected Arroyo to make such a move (even though Maccabi is one of the top consistent teams in the Euroleague and they always make it to the final stages).
How much was the guy making in the NBA?
Has he received any offers from other teams?

It's shocking to see how many NBA players are leaving the NBA to play abroad this season. I think David Stern needs to reconsider expanding the NBA in Europe like he has previously indicated so that he won't keep losing players from his league.
