Like Ginobili (and perhaps Nocioni) for Argentina, Nenê won't play at the Americas Tournament as well, but for different reasons. Apparently he's not happy with the situation of basketball in Brazil, with many teams disappearing, players not getting paid, people not attending games and constant disagreement on many issues. Only if that situation changes he will think about playing fot the NT.
I don't know if I agree with his decision, since if he played and got more involved in the issue, perhaps some things would start changing. He's an influential player, and he could use that influence to make the change. It's not by refusing to play for the NT that he contributes to it imo, although it may pressure the Brazilian basketball authorities to change things so he can return, but I think the other way around would be more effective.
