Andrés Pelussi

I can't believe it that Andrés Pelussi is still playing. I still remember him playing for Argentina, which was made up of under 23 players, in the 2001 Goodwill Games held here in Brisbane, Australia.

When Australia played Argentina, he was a huge hit with the crowed because everyone loved his hairstyle. He had a "mullet" - the 80s hairstyle where you have short at the front and very long at the back. When he was at the free throw line everyone was chanting "mullet ... mullet ... mullet ... ". For Aussies back then it was so hilarious to find any guy having a mullet hairstyle because he was such an 80s thing.

One thing I'll remember about Andrés Pelussi is when he took on Kenyon Martin and Martin's trash talkin' mouth. However, at the end of the first quarter Andrés Pelussi took the ball to the rack only to have Martin swat it into the 3rd row and then Martin stared down Andrés Pelussi. No wonder American ballers weren't and still aren't popular with the Australian people.
