Phase 1 ended last night. Teams with an asterisk will play the Super 8 Tournament at the end of the year in Mar del Plata.
North:
23 Atenas (9-5)*
23 Quimsa (9-5)*
23 Sionista (9-5)*
21 Libertad (7-7)*
21 La Unión (7-7)
18 Unión (6-8) two point discount because of fan violence
18 Regatas (8-6) four point discount because of fan violence
14 Olímpico (1-13) one point discount because of fan violence
South
24 Peñarol (10-4)*
23 Boca (9-5)*
22 Obras (8-6)*
21 Central Entrerriano (7-7)
21 Quilmes (7-7)*
19 Lanús (5-9)
19 Gimnasia (5-9)
19 Estudiantes (5-9)
Atenas: a incredibly rough defense, semi-illegaly rough according to some, that allows only 67 ppg. Lo Grippo's arrival gave the offense an extra outside threat. No player averages over 31 minutes, even if Orlietti still can't make it as a regular.
Sionista: Cequeira (19 ppg) is incredibly on fire, and both imports (Robinson and Dixon) are solid scorers behind him. The team managed to overcome injuries by Martínez and Zilli.
Quimsa: the deepest rotation in the league, nobody averages over 29 minutes, and 10 players get at least 10. Román González is the undisputed top scorer, but there's a lot of firepower behind him. And they did win the Liga Sudamericana in the process.
Libertad: has underachieved so far. The biggest of all big-name rosters suffered the injury of Saglietti and still couldn't get minutes for its talented kids, but the scoring is very balanced.

Can anyone tell me something more about David Jackson... I can't find much info about his previous career. Seems he's one of best players in LNB.
By the way, which are top players in this seasons LNB? Which players are highest paid in Argentinian basketball and what are biggest contracts?
Thanks!

ARG - Peñarol win finals opener
MAR DEL PLATA (Liga Nacional de Basquet) - Peñarol Mar del Plata opened the Argentinean National League finals with an 82-69 win over Atenas de Cordoba.
Atenas got off to a great start to the game and part of that was due to putting Juan Manuel Locatelli on Leo Gutierrez, a move that surprised many and paid dividends.
The visitors took a 12-6 lead before Peñarol got within one, 18-17, by the end of the opening period.
In the second quarter, Gutierrez and Marcos Mata helped the home team go on the offensive as they took a 37-34 lead at intermission.
They would carry that momentum into the third quarter, where they opened a double-digit lead thanks to the firepower of Facundo Campazzo and Martin Leiva.
Atenas struggled in getting anything going offensively as they lacked options down low and were closely defended on the perimeter.
Sebastián Rodríguez and Kyle Lamonte (picture) had 16 points each to lead Peñarol. Campazzo added 14 while Gutierrez and Marcos Mata finished with 13 each.
Locatelli led all players with a game-high18 points and Diego Lo Grippo 11 for Atenas.
After the game, Peñarol head coach Sergio Hernandez shared his thoughts.
"The game started the way Atenas wanted it to," he said. "They wanted to stop out rhythm and surprised us with the defense of Locatelli on Gutiérrez.
"We had a great third quarter, we were loose and aggressive and we took advantage of the fall of Atenas to take a big lead in a game that was well balanced. We forced them to make mistakes and we capitalised on them."
Game 2 is on Friday at Polideportivo Islas Malvinas in Mar del Plata.
