That would be only an occasional lineup, since Nocioni almost never plays the 4 spot for Argentina (although the possible absence of Oberto and Wolkowyski might force coach Hernández to place Nocioni there more often).

I'd add Paolo Quinteros (SG - León - Spanish LEB), two more PGs (Prigioni, Gianella or Porta), maybe Hernán Jasen (depending on how many minutes will Nocioni plays as a PF) and three more inside players (now THAT would be a problem, since Juan Gutiérrez had a bad injury).

despite those notable absences, Argentina still advances to the finals and qualified to 2008 Olympics. . . How much more if those absences were able to play. . . they would have gave Kobe and Lebron a spoiler dose. . .

Does anyone have any idea about the Argentina team for the Olympics?

For now I just can say that Ginobili, Oberto, Nocioni have said that they will be at the Olympics, Plus Prigioni, Porta, Delfino, Quinteros, Kammerichs, Scola, Roman Gonzalez, Leo Guttierrez, should be a good team. I still don't know if Pepe Sanchez and Walter Herrmann will play (probably Herrmann won't)

What's wrong with Hermann? Honestly, I like Hermann a lot. He's strong and powerful. But if he doesn't go, I think they will find a good replacement for his position on the bench.

This summer was really good for Argentina. Anybody who thinks it was bad is dead wrong. They brought some unknown but very talented players to Las Vegas and beat good teams. But they also had Delfino, Prigioni, Guitierrez, and others...add Nocioni and Manu, and you've got another Gold-medal challenger.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, Walter is great, but he said he will retire from NT some time ago. He claimed that he doesn't enjoy basketball that much and its just a work for him. So the thing is like he doesn't want to spend his holidays doing extra work. He's been through a lot of difficult things in his life, so anything he decides its more than ok. Obviously I hope he changes his mind

Really? Those are very strange things to say from a big-time player. Toward the end of last season he really became a beast. I'm disappointed that he said he would retire from the NT. I suppose it's wierd because now he is playing better than ever; he's playing better than he did in the ACB or EL...

...but of course, if a player says he just wants the money, I guess you can't be upset when he doesn't want to join the NT. The NT could always put that guy with black hair and tattoos on the team (I forget his name, but he played pretty well off the bench in a few games this summer).
