With Cuban NTs there is always one question: Which and how many players will leave the team and pursue their careers?

Silvestre is a great player. He could have some success abroad. Cuban basketball would be benefited if they let some of their players go out to play in Europe or LatinAmerica.

CUB - Ariel Amarillo named the new head coach of the Cuban National Team:

BUENOS AIRES - Ariel Amarillo of Argentina was named the new head coach for the Cuban National team that is scheduled to participate in the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship, which is a qualifier for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Amarillo coached Belgrano, Regatas Corrientes and Estudiantes de Olavarría in Argentina and was assistant of Sergio Hernandez for many years.

His stay in Cuba includes the development of coaches and also the men's and women's national team.

Cuba is in Group A along with Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. This tournament qualifies the top two teams for the 2012 Olympics and teams from third to fifth place to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
