Canada ahead 40-19 vs Chile at halftime.
After a balanced 1st Q, Canadian team played very aggressive defense in Q2 and Chile had no answers.
Justin Jackson (#12) impressive in a team which hasn't great size but is very quick.

USA 96 Argentina 72. US led 16-0 and didn't play too well after that. In particular I thought they defended the drive-and-kick game poorly, ending up with a bunch of defenders in the paint and wide-open shooters on the perimeter, which really shouldn't happen considering the shot-blocking capabilities of the big men. Argentina did a good job keeping the US off the offensive glass. Refs successfully killed any flow by calling 57 fouls.

The USA kids are phisically amazing. It looked like men against children for moments. Our 6'9" kid who got injured just a week before the tournament would have been useful. After all, in the bright side, Argentina didnĀ“t lost the composture after the terrible start of the game 16-0 USA. And continued to move the ball and play hard (we even got to win the third quarter 22-17 lol).

Puerto Rico pulls it out against Uruguay, 65-59. PR used to be good at basketball. Could Chile actually beat them tomorrow?

Argentina is a really good team, it showed it already in the Turkey tournament last spring.

USA for the first time below the 100-mark, but most surprisingly the rebounds count yesterday was even with Argentina.

Harry Giles of US team is out of the tournament for a sprained knee.

            Probable semis:

            USA-Puerto Rico
            Canada-Argentina

Puerto Rico held off Chile 62-52 to take second place int heir group. Canada beat Uruguay easily. So the semifinal matchups are US vs. PR and Canada vs. Argentina.

Impressed with Puerto Rico's Ivan Rosa. 21 points against USA.

The gold medal game USA-Arg has become a classic in the U16 Fiba Americas history !

Curiously, all finals will be a repeat of prelim round games.

Tried to watch the end, but the stream kept freezing.

Anyway, if Argentina gets off to a good start and the US shoots like they did yesterday, it could be a decent championship game.

Bit surprisingly, at halftime Puerto Rico is ahead by 4 over Canada in a close game (last call doubtful, hadn't time run out ?).

Canada terribly missing a good "long" and shooting badly from outside so far.

Finally, Canada took the bronze in the last minutes when Puerto Rico ran out of gas and after one of its best players (L. Allende) fouled out.

                              J. Murray, on top of Canadian team.

USA up 43-15 at halftime. Argentina did a pretty good job getting physical with the US in the first quarter but eventually they were going to run out of fouls. Stream died after that but the US had a big second quarter.
