ARG Former Argentina center Tourn dies after cardiac arrest

BUENOS AIRES (CABB) - Argentina basketball is in mourning following the death of Orlando Fabian Tourn.

The former national team center, who was just 41, died while at home after a cardiac arrest.

Tourn made his professional debut at the age of 17 with Ferro and had a long career in South America and Europe.

He was voted to the Liga Nacional's Best Five in 1992 and two years later played at the FIBA World Championship in Canada.

Tourn played in 33 games overall for the national team from 1991-94, averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds.

This season he served as a coach in the lower divisions with Union Deportiva Chanta Cuatro in Argentina.

Among the other club sides he played for were Penarol, Olimpia and Racing club.

Tourn played 607 games in 15 LNB seasons.
