Checking in on former Illinois players in Europe, I caught Shaun Pruitt's numbers for BK Prostejov in the Czech Republic:

1PT: 36/85 (.424)
2PT: 93/146 (.637)
3PT: 2/3 (.500)

Can anyone find a player with a large number of attempts that is shooting a lower percentage?

As you can see, he is doing pretty well other than the FT shooting, it's not like he's a useless player...he was never good from the line in college either, but at least managed to be above .500...

He's not playing anymore, but Sascha Hupmann (http://www.basket-stats.info/players/playerfile/h/sascha-hupmann.htm) [not a useless player either] was a ridiculously bad free throw shooter.

When I saw the topic I immediately thought of him, too. His free throw technique was unique. Kinda like shot put. I think he probably shot under 45% in his career.

I would reccomend checking where Eric Hicks is playing and how he's doing. Last season at Polpak Swiecie he was 106 for 232 from the line which makes it 45.6%.
I've checked some players in polish league from this seasons, but unfortunately nobody wants to go under 50%...
Although 26 for 45 and 57% for David Logan is shockingly low FT percentage for such a good scorer.

Robertas Javtokas is one of the worst ones playing on the highest level. His % go even under 50%, but at the moment I'm not in the mood for searching the stats...

Eric Williams of Avellino is also a horrible FT shooter.
In 3 season Lega A he has shoot 49% on 186/380.

Actually Javtokas increased his free trow shooting % in Dynamo Moscow, but you are right, he's the worst shooter from the free throw line playing on a such a high level

Eurelijus Zukauskas after the shoulder injury.
http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?clubcode=zal&pcode=ADX&seasoncode=E2007
more or less the same in BBL and LKL.

Also young Tautvydas Slezas

last season 42.86 in regular season and 30.43% in relegation round. Ok, he is young and can improve this.

Kimani Ffriend (http://www.tbl.org.tr/beko/oyuncu.asp?Kod=3347) shoots 49.4% from the line so far in TBL.

Asim Pars, who is currently on Turk Telekom roster, made only 4 of 33 free throws (12.1%) in TBL 2005-06 regular season's last 8 games while playing for Tuborg.

The worst free throw shooter in Euroleague history was Dejan Tomasevic. I loved him as a player of Yugoslavia national team, but in 1997/1998 season he didn't score a single free throw for at least 10-15 games. He played for
KK PARTIZAN and the team ended up in final four. He had to have missed 40free throws in a row. Later on he drasticly improved in this area.

He never played euroleague but the worst FT shooter i can remember playing at the high level was Jerome Lane, he avg like 35-36% for his whole carreer so in the NBA as in the ACB. He was a terrific rebounder in spite of being barely 6-6 or 6-7 tall.

Maybe you don't know Christian Di Giuliomaria (Snaidero Udine)...
This season he's shooting 6/14 (42%) from the free throw line.

Last season he shot 26/90 (28.9%). Is it enough to consider him the worst free throw shooter in Europe (in the World)?

In the world, it's easy to find worse^^. Even probably as a basketball player.

He will not be in the list, but I think Drew Nicholas is a terrible FT shooter for a guard, especially at the end of the games.

I think i'm better than that now, but... it's been a while i've not shot some in game context.

10.3% from free throw line while playing in Pao, in 2006-07 season.

If somebody has exact numbers of Javtokas` made and missed FTs, post it here, please.

Andrija Stipanović (BC Split), his FTs in NLB league:
http://www.adriaticbasket.com/player.php?id=886
2007-08: 43.5%, 2008-09: 41.4%

I think that's a joke, in reality he hit a very respectable 35.5% (11-31) in the Euroleague and 44.4% in the Greek League.

Might be joke or just a mistake :) Actualy when he came back to bball court after motocycle crash, he was improved with ft quite a lot, but then season by season the % was decreasing till he left PAO, but now again he's quite good with it (for his standarts :))

I found only numbers in some international tournaments (European cups for clubs/NT):

1993/1994 Olympiakos 86/141 61.0
1994/1995 Panathinaikos 86/150 57.3
1995 EC Qualies Yugoslavia 1/2 50.0
1995 EC Final round Yugoslavia 8/18 44.4
1995/1996 Panionios 44/61 72.1
1996 Olympics Yugoslavia 9/17 52.9

True and not true at the same time. Since the 1994 F4 where he lost some crucial Ft's, he developed a mental problem with those. You could see in his face "shit, free throws now" and he was pretty bad. His FT shooting style changed as well.

So he was bad in the second half of his career let's say. But he was very bad.
