    "10 teams in Dubai International Tournament - (by Mohammed Malas)
    The best 10 teams in middle east will take part in the most popular tournament in the area Dubai International Tournament which will be held in Al Ahli court in Dubai from the period between the 20th of December until the 27th of the same month.

    - The teams are:
    Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut 'Lebanon - Titleholders'
    Zain 'Jordan-Runner Ups'
    Al Jalaa Aleppo 'Syria'
    Al Jeish Army Damascus 'Syria'
    Al Moutahed Tripoli 'Lebanon'
    Champville 'Lebanon'
    Al Ittihad Alexandria 'Egypt'
    Petrochimi Imam Harbour 'Iran'
    An Nasr 'UAE'
    UAE National Team

    Those teams will be devided into two groups in a draw before a week from the tournament's opening day."


    Riyadi and Zain are once again the favored teams to win the tournament. I wish there were good teams from Europe or East Asia though.

    - Tyrone Grant (202-F-77, agency: Megasport, college: St.John's) will be the 3rd import with Al Muttahed in Dubai International Tournament (Dubai, UAE 20-27 December) along with Darren Kelly (190-G-78, college: Texas) and Tony Williams (202-F-78, agency: ACMT, college: Louisville).

    Grant played last season Italian Lega2 with Prima Veroli averaging 16.4ppg and 8.5rpg in 29 games, He also played before in Greece, Spain and South Korea.

    - Champville team's management decided to have the services of Rashad Powell (198-G-81, college: Idaho) who may replace William Pippen (203-F-80, college: Middle Tenn.St.) and Andre Muse (196-G-86, college: Quincy) to play with the team in Dubai International Tournament (Dubai, UAE 20-27 December).

    Powell was playing this season in Mexico before heading to Lebanon, He had a good season last year in UAE with Al Sharjah, While Muse is still a newly graduated player and will add depth to the roster of coach Ghassan Sarkis".

      20th Dubai Int'l Tournament Draw

      The two groups of the 20th Dubai International Tournament (20 to 28th of December) was drawn today, The titleholders Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut came on the top of Group A while their Runner-Ups Zain from Jordan came in the 2nd.

      Champville 'Lebanon'
      Al Ittihad Alexandria 'Egypt'
      Al Jalaa Aleppo 'Syria'
      An Nasr 'UAE'

      Group B:

      Despite of its friendly type, Dubai International Tournament always approaches the best teams in middle east who always like to play due to the good timing of it for teams to prepare for the long season."

              An Nasr Imports for Dubai Tournament

              An Nasr basketball team are getting ready for Dubai International Tournament (20-28 December) under the coaching of Srdjan Antic

              The american forward Trello Galloway (201-G/F-79, college: Georgia St.) will remain with the team during the tournament and after, while Reggie Butler (207-C-77, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Xavier) will replace the team's main center Marquis Estill (206-F-81, college: Kentucky) who's still suffering from the injury he had before 3 weeks, The 3rd import will be the argentinian center Guillermo Scholtis (217-C-78).

              Butler was in turkey before joining An Nasr, He played before in China, Ecuador, Jordan, Philippines, Spain and Portugal, While Scholtis did'nt play from 3 seasons but he's fit to play for the tournament and show what he has."

                Army & Al Jalaa choose their imports for Dubai Tournament

                "Army club head coach Imad Othman had finally chosen his 3rd imports for Dubai International Tournament (Dubai, UAE 20-28 December) with the american duo Chad Hendrick (197-G/F-79, college: Houston) and Marvin Black (201-F-80, agency: EM-PA, college: Marshall), Derrick Davenport (208-C-78, college: TCU) arrived to Damascus yesterday and is ready to do his best with his collegues in the tournament.

                Davenport's experience is rich with good clubs in Europe as he played there in France, Russia, Italy and Turkey.....

                - John Thomas (205-F/C-75, college: Minnesota) and Roderick Riley (210-C-81, agency: Elfus-Siegel Management (ESM), college: Prairie View A&M) will complete the imports list of al Jalaa with the american forward Damond Williams (197-F-80, agency: HM Sports Agency, college: Mc Neese St.) for Dubai International Tournament which will start next Saturday....

                Thomas's NBA and D-League experience is amazing and will look to add Syria to Spain and China to his overseas career, While Riley previousley took the chance to play in Germany, Ukraine and South Korea adding to NBA D-League."

                            Unfortunately,Riyadi's player Nate johnson arrived to Dubai late he couldnt sign there ...Mookie and Sean lampley will be riyadi's foreign players in the championship.

                              Wasn't he previously signed before? And isn't Ismail Ahmad considered as a foreigner?
                              Even though I'm a Riyadi fan, I bet u anything that they are going to complain that the organizers of the tournament are against them (This will happen if Riyadi doesn't win the title, which I believe that they still can even though it's going to be tough to beat Zain )
