  • Spanish imports for PBA Philippine Cup

    Hello Spanish friends,

The PBA Philippine Cup will conclude sometime during February 2008 and the Fiesta Cup begins in March. I was just wondering whether you can suggest any talented Spanish players to play as an import for our league. Thanks for the soon-to-be reply and our basketball clubs are in need of good players standing 6-9 and above.

hehehehe!! lol!.. yeah they're gonna be expensive but I think its worth hiring Spaniards to play in the Philippines...

I hope not just basketball though... maybe if there's a pro-league for football... then it would be awesome to see Spaniards and other Europeans playing as imports... although like they're gonna be more expensive than the basketball players...

For me, in terms of football I would rather see a Spanish coach to first come over to teach the game then have imports.
Not only would he be able to teach the game and the techniques but also be able to influence Spanish players to come over. Just like in China, thereĀ“s Uruguayan football coaches and they bring with them 3 Uruguayan imports.

When hes in shape, hes an incredible player. The problem is than in the last 2 years (more or less) he has been too much irregular. He could do 1 great game followed by 3 terrible ones, or 3 good and after that 3 terrible... And when u r competing for a spot in the NT with people like P.Gasol, Garbajosa, Reyes, M.Gasol, Trias...etc, is very difficult to earn his iclusion in the roster playing like that. Also Barca's coach, Ivanovic, isnt the best coach to ask for comprehension when u have a bad game so...

Imho he just shoud go to a some smaller team when he could get easily 25-30 min per game without problems, so he could recover his best shape and be the great and dominant player we all know he can be.

Thats absolutely true. Theres no better way to attract good spanish players (or players playing in spanish league), that hiring a spanish coach, over all in football. In greece, a spanish coach brought with him 7 players from spain, in Scotland another one brought 5, in England, Liverpool's coach brought 5-6 players from spanish league... theres a lot of examples, and i dont see why this couldnt be made also in basket.
