Get well game for France, they can't possibly be as bad as Australia made them look.....right? China is China, but to be fair being stomped by the US is less embarrassing as being stomped by the Boomers.

If France doesn't destroy the Chinese then they really are every bit as bad as they looked against the Aussies.

If they had Fournier at the two and Timothe Lawawu to backup Batum this might be a completely different team on the wings. Remember when the French coach said he left certain players off because their replacements played so well in the qualifiers? Wonder if he still feels that way.

Looks like the basketball whisperer is back to call the action tonight.

This first quarter seems similar to USA-Venezuela first quarter. I expect a similar outcome in the end.

It took 9 minutes and many seconds before coach Collet put Kahudi on Guo on defense..It should have been from the start..

France should slow the game on their offensive side when in half court coz china does not move so much I mean actually late in reacting that france is having a hard time because the chinese defense is slow they block the way..Same problem with the Philippines last asian finals.. Philippines exerted too much effort in moving but china is actually just blocking the spots on the floor..

That or push the tempo..

but in half court they should slow it. they have the size to match china anyway..

so they did it.. they settled in the half court better.. patient offense.
And when there is opportunity to push the tempo, they run.

It might be time to think about taking away the automatic qualifier for the Asian champ. They are just not competitive.
Or at least until the next Yao comes around.

it should be 2 spots for asian region at first place.

Sure, baring in mind how Asian teams performed in 2012/2016 Olympics and OQT with 0-17 record, mostly by blowouts, and still counting, number must be increased...

Sure, let the top team from Asia automatically qualify for the OQT. Considering Oceania is joining Asia, perhaps let the top team gain Olympic berth while 2nd place earns a spot in the OQT. Should be fair, right?

IMO 2 best teams from Asia should play against Australia and New Zealand. 2 teams to Olympics, 2 teams to OQT. I guess there's some kind of schedule problems. Other solution is that AUS & NZ joins the Asia.

The funny thing is that as we know 2020 Olympics will be held in Tokyo, so we'll surely have Japan + another Asian team, which will show best result in 2019 World Cup, most likely China. Judging by Chinese talent pool, I really don't see them bein' more competitive, especially since their only bright spot in NT Yi Jianlian will be already 32-33yo. That new Pacific thing will count only for OQT

Actually there are strong evidence that could prove Yi is already 32 :D
