Right now I'm listening to Depeche Mode - "Walking In My Shoes" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH5aufUB8J4) (great song with one of my favorite videos ever).

I am obsessed with this song:
Supermen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Azr1wdC5z3E&mode=related&search=)

Also I am desperately trying to find what song this is. It has stuck in my head big time.
DKV JB-Maccabi. Rudy Tribute. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVh9EmpnvP4&mode=related&search=)

And in order not to forget the fatherland I have to compulsorily listen to each of the following songs 5 times a day :D
Azis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgGQ52iHUM8)
Azis 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5_JrL8ZPeI)
Azis 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gEpdrXEI6U)

Maybe you will find this boring, but I had to share this one with you. Its a video clip of my Island called Ikaria. This is from one of the many folklore festivals during the summer. Their main characteristic is the fact that these Ikarian festivals, are 12 hours non-stop dancing drinking and "smoking"! The song is the official "Kariotikos" thats why the youngsters are going wild This could easily be at 5am in the morning!
Long live Greece, long live Ikaria.

It is weird so that, whenever I see/hear a Greek speaking Turkish or English, I can understand that he is Greek. The way they pronounce some words in English or Turkish, and their accent, makes it very easy to understand they are Greek. At least for me

It's unarguable that the last album was bit under what she has used us too I think, but I hope it was just a one-time set-back. The song YYY posted is great.

For about a week now, I listen to his songs only... from the first album (1967) to the last (2004).

I've probably listened at least 100 times to Oceania since Medulla's release.. the fact that this album has been recorded using only human sounds as instruments is awe-inspiring.
but this new album is really good old Bjork. maybe not as brilliant or memmorable as some of the earlier albums, but sincere straightforward stuff nontheless.

New Chemical Brothers album is next (coming out in June or smth). I was somewhat dissapointed with "Push the Button", we'll see what happens now...

This is a great thread, if it wasn't for all of you posting songs from different countries, I may never have had a change to listen to this them. I did not know most of this singers/groups, the ones we get are from latin america, Spain and US mostly... eventually Italian, like Laura Paussini or Eros Ramazzotti, but never anything from Greece or India and I haven't watched most of this.... I need a lot of time. Anyway here is my contribution, a couple of videos from Mexico, these are not the best, but this song is right now this one is not even in the top ten.... hahaha (I thought it was), but I like it.

anyway - this week he came to israel and i went to his concert in the ceasria roman theatre (great venue for live concerts) which was very similar to the second CD (actually DVD) i mentioned. on this show he hosted another greek singer - Glikeria who is probably more popular in israel than in greece... a great show, i don't speak the language and thus didn't understand most of the songs but this a superb show of greek music. great band, great voice, great show. i guess our greek friends can help by suggestions other albums to listen to as well.

Yeah its a beautiful song, much better than the moby-alone version.
Another songs that i love from Amaral are: "te necesito", "sin ti no soy nada", "toda la noche en la calle" , "el universo sobre mi" or "escapar" for example. By the way, they are simply spectacular in concert, believe me.

I think I am re-living my late teenage years when I was a big fan of Norwegian one-man black metal band Burzum. I have rediscovered some of his masterpieces .

Warning: They are very peculiar-sounding songs, and definitely an acquired taste. My guess would be that you'll hate them and immediately think what the hell is wrong with me (or my ears). Trust me, though, within their genre these are masterpieces. Here's three random ones.

PS: For the ones that don't know, the artist (Varg Vikernes) is serving a 21-year prison sentence for stabbing and killing one of his former band members (once in another band) in addition to having served previously another prison sentence for burning down 8 churches in Norway. He is labeled as a neo-Nazi and a Satanist, both of which he denies. Call me shallow but I personally don't care about these accusations and I simply enjoy his music.

Yes, he's quite a controversial fellow, but like many black/death metal bands, there's some connection with nazism or white power. The sames goes for darkfolk, one of my favourite genres, although most bands take more the aesthetics of the Nazi period than the actual ideology. Either way, like you I simply enjoy the music and don't care about the rest.

He probably has a taste in music similar to yours, Rick. One of the members of La Buena Vida started a side project (probably like Cinema Strange) that really follows La Buena Vida's style. His is called "El Joven Bryan." It's a little simpler, but still good.

Yeah! I too was raised with that show on Mtv. It was the only show back in the ninetees for us headbangers. It came after Beaves and Butthead cartoon.

Nice tunes LuDux, reminds of the times when I used to listen hip-hop/rap. It made feel like listening Guru's Jazzmatazz and remember old times:

Nouvelle Vague video "Dance with me" that features a dance scene from Godard's "Bande a Part". The plot sounds really interesting as well as the dance scene visually. Defo the next film ima watch.

Oh my stars and garters, you boys have been trapped in weird pop land! Listening to all this makes me want to vomit strawberry milkshake all over you. Gack!

Okay, I'm sorry, I don't mean to criticize; if you really like it, well . . . :o I have to live in the hope that one day, some of you will tire of feeding at the populist trough and grow up to be actual music connoisseurs. Stuart and rik I have hope for, but Arky, you need a musical transfusion right now. :D So here's my most recent five, in the interest of spreading some knowledge.

Meat Beat Manifesto - Solid Waste
pq-XbYT9S-E
My Morning Jacket - I'm Amazed
AzdoOGUsEKg&h=en
Christian Kjellvander - Two Souls
_iDNapjNKNY&hl=en
Nine Inch Nails - Head Down
jVWo67V_LzI&hl=en
and for actual avant-garde pop, Arky!!! here's Efterklang - Mirador

c'mon its electro pop, not backstreet boys pop

I think you dread the word pop, well there are other types of pop that aren't that of mainstream like indie pop and folk pop etc....

Lots of metal last week (i.e. Disincarnate, Pig Destroyer) with a few wildcards thrown in like Killing Joke and Infected Mushroom.

This week: Death Cab For Cutie's Narrow Stairs and the Hannah Montana OST.
