    Today's draw results:

Group A - Mexico, USA, El Salvador, Canada

Group B - Chile, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Argentina

Top two teams of each Group will qualify for the semi-finals.

Not a well mixed draw indeed (the three South American nations in the same Group).

US U18 NT member Napheesa Collier named MVP at the US U18 3x3 trials. Collier, a UConn incoming freshman, won the title together with teammates Natalie Chou, Dejanae Boykin and Arike Ogunbowale (all U17 NT members).

Carleton, Gilles, Willock and Yearwood played in the U17 team that finished 6th at the World's championship.

Curiously noticed the name similarity of Canadian roster's Harper with US Basketball junior champion and Kentucky soph Linnae Harper.

                          Thainá Silva – Fw – 18 – 1.76
                          Vitória Domingos Marcelino – F/C – 18 – 1.79
                          Bianca Araújo da Silva – C – 18 – 1.90

                          Nicolle Xavier Chirinda – C – 17 – 1.83

Two players, Calixto and de Carvalho, participated in the U17 World championship (Bianca Araújo, 18 y, obviously didn't play in the U17 as I previously reported, but was selected to the Sr NT for the 3-game series played vs Canada in June).

Brazil should scrimmage USA team in Colorado Springs.

Tournament D1 results as expected, except for Brazil who lost to Puerto Rico. After taking the lead in Q1, Brazilian team lost itself in a flurry of errors (36 to).
Brazil must win next game with Argentina (1-0) to stay in the race for SF.

USA rolled over Mexico mainly with the bigs (Turner, Wilson and Shepard) though all players scored. USA team's only weakness was the 3-pt shooting, as it went scoreless beyond the line (0/11), allowing at the same time 11 threes to Mexican girls (their only valuable weapon against their bigger opponents).

In Gr A, USA and Canada cruised unbeaten and will clash together tonight. Both teams are already qualified for SF and the 2015 WC.

As for Gr B, picture is complicated as all teams are tied and today's games will decide who will qualify. Watching yeasterday's two games, noticed good play of Brazil's Gabriela Guimaraes and Vitoria Domingos Marcelino, Argentina's Victoria Lara and Mayra Leiva, Chile's Barbara Cousino and Catalina Abuyeres and Puerto Rico's Paola Crespo and Sofia Roma.
