I am not a fan of All-Star games, but given that the game will take place in Lamia I can see that it might be a good show for the locals. Even though I have the feeling that the fans of Lamia (due to the proximity of their city to Athens) are not as hungry for basketball as fans in, say, Thrace, Epirus, or western and easten Macedonia might be.

The Euroleague Organization and Mr Bertomeu are like the Bulgarian Government: corrupt, partially stupid, and a huge underestimator of people's intelligence.

I'm from Lamia Lamia is 217km away from Athens, not near enough to go to see matches on a regular basis (except for the fan clubs of course). The population is about 60-70 thousand people;I have doubts the stadium will be filled unless they exercise the usual tactics of giving free tickets to schools etc.The good thing is that in Greek Cup final 4 matches that took place there people usually filled the stadium, but with the help of teams fan excursions.
Anyway it will be good to see A1 players play since the local team plays in A2 category

i strongly believe that baby shaq should play in this all- star game!so that he prove to PG that the time he is getting isnt what he deserves, also pao coach ombradovic shouldnt be voted, instead the coach of panionios should be voted he is doing an excellent job and its time to see someone else in that spot,i have a question who decides which players will compete in the 3 point and dunk contest?the reporters??

Who voted Gagaloudis for the All Star Game?

I'm just curious as to why anyone would vote for the guy. I mean, he came first, more than 5.000 votes ahead of the second player. Really now, if you voted for him, please let me know the reasons why. I'm dying here.

Here's the thread for the All-Star Game: http://forums.interbasket.net/showthread.php?t=2503

Anyways, it's completely crazy, Gagaloudis finishing so far in front of the second best player. He'll miss the game though because of an injury, like the foreigner with the most votes - Mike Batiste. What's also crazy is the fact that it seems that they changed the voting system during the voting process once again. Weren't the fans only supposed to select the first 7 players with the leagues coaches selecting the rest? And why is Obradovic coaching the greek team? Because they didn't want to leave Mazzon out with 32 votes less than Gershon?
Here are the teams and votes btw (plus the 3-point and dunking contest participants):

The voting is a bad copy of the nba voting as all competition is a bad copy of the nba all star. People are voting based on the club they like and not based on players performances. Stack most votes excluding Batiste and Zizic not even in team !! Alvertis more points than everyone else except Diamantidis and after hiom Schorchanitis who is not playing or playing a bit the last 2 months !!

sorry for spamming thus thread with wrong posts but i've got really no time and i have to get some info from basketball fanatics leaving in greece.

i've got a bit unusual question ;D i'm goin to visit Greece (Elounda/Crete) these holidays but first i gotta get some info on where will i find a basketball court there cause i wont survive a day without basket so i was wondering if some of you live somewhere near there, or could maybe ask somebody about it? i would be grateful, cause its damn hard to find such things on the internet.

                          PEACE!!

If you are staying inside a big hotel compound there will be 110% at least one Basket court. If you are staying in a small hotel inside the village, try and find the nearest school yard. Every school in Greece has "Basketes" (Baskets) !!!
I don't know if there is a public school in the village of Elounda but you will certainly find a school in Aghios Nikolaos (Saint Nick) 11km to the South.
