EL teams problems

I allways thought it would be nice to open a new threadwhere we all can write about the El teams roster , tactics, mangament problems so it won't be scterd all over the forum...

so who would like to start? what's your team problems this year...?

Well than I'll be the 1th...
with Maccabi.

Roster :

1)young roster.
2)bad point guard (as bynum) for now. unstable lots of TO's.
3)lack of a massive block shoter in the paint.
4)short bech of guards and overload of forwards.

team game:
1)bad transition defence.
2)softness in the paint cuz of Nikola weaknesses to block shots and drills rebounds (though he consistantly improving).
3)many ups and downs doring the game and from game to game.

Partizan Belgrade

Roster

1. young roster (that´s not the biggiest problem, but some more veterans would be good, but we have no money so we have to use youngsters)
2. weak bench especially at PG and SG spot
3. unexpieriend bench
4. big problem no backup PG for Cummings
5. weak at the SG position. Tripkovic is a big dissapointment so far and Tepic also. In some games both show their talent, but they have more weak then good games.

Team game
1. to much turnovers
2. not a great 3point shooting team
3. still many up and downs. at some points of the game were are not able to score for 4-5 minutes.
4. problem with teams which attack the guards early.

Union Olimpija problems

Roster problems:

1) no center, Kuzminskas and Rizvič are too weak for Euroleague
2) problems with Miha Zupan's transfer from Slovan to Olimpija
3) Sašo Ožbolt got injured and will miss whole season
4) because of Sašo Ožbolt's absance, additional combo-guard is needed
5) lots of injury problems before the season and in the start
6) Good PF (Zupan's case should get solved) and strong center are needed

Team game problems:

1) Arslan has problems with organising the offence - too passive
2) Čebular, Hohler, Kuzminskas and Rizvič aren't yet good enough for Euroleague
3) Lack of rotation
4) No inside game except on PF's, at all
5) Whole team is very inconsistant, except Milič
6) When they don't have a good shooting they, we can't win a game

Management problems:

1) Currently Olimpija has 3.000.000€ debts
3) Money and new sponsors are needed
4) Money
5) Money
6) Money

About Efes..

1. We are still in transition period. We sometimes play very fast (Efes always decided slow tempo in the past) and sometimes play with low tempo. Players are not doing both very well and not consistent. But in the last games, i saw too much improvement compared to the beginning of the season...
2. Rebounding
3. Bad shot choices made by Jenkins.
4. Not that defensive team compared to last seasons.
5. Efes was able to put the margin at some point when they were leading the game last seasons. But they seem unexpectable in some games while they were leading the game...
6. Injury of Granger is a big deficit.
7. Low assists.

Whereas the team turnovers are quite few.(1st in EL right now). We have good experienced bench players(Gonlum, Erden, Prkacin, Profit, Abi). We have nearly solved our offensive problems in the last seasons. We have many 3 pt shooting players with high percentage. We have both point center(Prkacin), big man(Kuqo) , athletic and blocker PF(Haislip) and do it all PF(Gonlum). And locker player(Abi)... I still feel and believe that this team will force the F4, in this year too.

1. Lack of PG (Jenkins+Erden+Ermis=0)
2. Lack of back-up SG (Abi is just useless)
3. Lack of back-up SF (in other words, Granger's injury)
4. Haislip's unstoppable lust for three pointers
5. Inefficient use of centers (Prkacin's low form, Gönlüm's reduced minutes)
6. Unused youngsters (Hersek, Pacun, Bayav, Ermis)

Fenerbahçe-Ülker

1. Worst coach possible (Aydin Örs... I won't waste any words)
2. Presence of Ira Clark & M.Türkcan

I realized Fener-Ülker has a better roster than Efes.

1. weak ass coaches
2. roster full of players who can't guard a chair
3. a center who only cares for his stats and plays zero defence
4. team managment - they let one coach to coach whole team for 4 weeks already and i don't see then this travesty will come to the end.

8. too many young players
9. injuries
10. oh yeah - referee's conspiracy theory

with Mottola, Popovic and Jankunas out (and Penney injuried in the middle of the game) we still played a regullar (equal in the begining, -10 in the end ) match against Beneton with 9 players scoring points. This year Zalgiris actually has a 13 man roster that it mannipulates during the Euroleague and local games. the only person that I'm really suprised about in this regard is Peciukas. him being a nonfactor is really strange. I hoped his play would be somewhere close to what Penney is demmonstrating, but he's just glued to the bench despite being 24 and the leader of Neptunas last season. he's considerably older than Jankunas, Maciulis or Kalnietis, but he's simply not playing..

I agree with the rest, for about a year now we are a walking problem.

well i don't agree with you about Aydın Örs
but on the other hand we have to add to this list the problem concerning "supporters", for example the match against Aris was the most important game and there was no one in Abdi İpekçi it could be very different i think if Fenerbahçe had its supporters' energy.

It's interesting that almost none of Fener supporters finds any guilt on Örs. The situation is the same on Turkish boards, too. Hard to get it.
