Mexico gets their 4th win, typically that means advancement but that might not be the case this year. Have Puerto Rico last in a game that may or may not matter to PR.

Huge game of Hector Hernandez (25p). 100-89 Mexico. Now the last game will be deciding it. Mexico can make it to the World Cup! Thrilling!

what a difference a couple days can make, Canada now in a must win game tomorrow, DR sitting comfortably with Uruguay tomorrow.

Puerto Rico can clinch with a win tonight but Venezuela's been giving people fits lately.

Yupp a slong as they have close losses on teams that they have tied into..and they must have the energy in the knockout rounds..

Puerto Rico comes all the way back to win in OT and clinch a trip world cup! Congrats, though gutted for Venezuela they played well enough to win it. Lucky for them they are still alive and have Jamaica next.

If they have a tie with Argentina and Mexico its all over even before their game against Jamaica..

I think this these are the scenarios for tomorrow...had it all figured out in case of a Venezuela win and then PR came back, so hopefully there aren't any mistakes here:

MEX, CAN, DR, and JAM win-->MEX, PR, DR, and CAN qualify
MEX, CAN, URU, and VEN win-->MEX, PR, DR, and VEN qualify

Why will they make him a point man with his size?

I am 100% sure that PR has already qualified. So not sure why they have multiple scenarios.

They are qualified in all 16 scenarios. The result of their game obviously makes a difference to who else qualifies though.

Maybe Ive only seen few games but is the reputation of Ricky Sanchez to be agood defender in pick roll situations that he is capable of covering perimeter players..He isn't really a defensive presence or a stretch shooter so imo I would gamble to have holland/or Galindo to play the 4 and Balkman at 5..

yes it is, but it has worked in 3 straight games, Donta just abused of it in that play.

I'm actually looking forward an unlikely decisive Canada vs. Argentina! With all the emotions reserved to the round-robin 2nd round, the knockout stage turns out to be not so relevant. Maybe a format change would be interesting for the competition.

I think its very good format.. Its like a sprint on a marathon.. a lot of tactics needed to be done to get the win.. Im all for it..'

A 3 pointer by Barea on the shot clock buzzer with 2 minutes to go.

Well this is the last year of this format regardless. Olympic qualifying of course only has two spots, and after that World Cup qualifying shall resemble soccer's more. FIBA Americas shall just be a for pride tournament.
