    * If Teodosic will be ready to play i would put him in front of Rubio. Greece has the best SG of the tournament and a top 10 player in every position. France has the best player in the SF and PG position and if you rank De Colo as a SG (i do not) they would have a top 15 player in every position, though their C position is weak as Ajinca could have been replaced at the 15th spot by a number of players. Lithuania has the best PF of the tournament and a top 10 player in every position expect for PG, also except for PG (and SF) they have at least 2 top 15 players in every position, which makes them the deepest team of the tournament. Slovenia has a top 15 player at every position (but that could be a case of homerism by me).

Based on this, you can see where certain teams have weaknesses. Spain is still the best team all around. It has a top 15 player at every position and a top 5 player in 4 out of 5 positions. Greece is the runner up, then Lithuania.

France is the only team that has 2 #1 players in the starting 5, but they don't have a C in the top 10 and a PF, thats why their success is questionable.

    My power ranking would be:
    Spain
    Greece
    Lithuania
    France
    Slovenia
    Croatia
    Serbia
    Turkey
    Russia
    FYRM
    Poland
    Monte Negro
    Bosnia and Herzegovina
    Italy
    Israel

Now i understand that this could never be the final standing because of group distribution. It is just a power ranking.

Understandably, not a single Turkish player for 1 & 2 spots... That's our glaring weakness obviously...
on the other hand, Omer Asik is underrrated... He's a defensive player, lacks fancy moves, but I'd rank him 3rd...

ps. Ricky Hickman is playing for Georgia.

Simply because they play in the NBA does not make Gortat and Asik top 3 center. Both of them have major issues in their game. Gortat is not very bright. Doesn't play defense, can't defend the pnr to save his life and has not outside touch. Tomic and Krstic are both better. Asik is may be a bit low, he could be higher, but i just don't trust him tbh.

TOTALLY forgot about Belinelli. Put him in #4 for SGs in front of Aradori. I simply like Aradori. I simply really like the way he plays. He is a great player and a fantastic shooter. He has a mid range game, which is rare to see today and he can hit a 3pter with 50%+ efficiency. The SG spot in this years EC is very weak. The SG position in general i feel is dying out.

Also IMO Eliyahu will play the SF spot for Israel, just like he did for Vitoria.

I could be persuaded to put Asik higher TBH but # 4 is as high as i'd put him. The #4-8 spot at C are interchangeable IMO.

Tomic and Krstic play defense better than Gortat?

i like Aradori, but in the defensive side he often is a scrubs...

Elyahy will play PF,because Casspi and Pnini will plya SF...

then,T.Diener is second only to Parker,Mccalebb,,Rubio,Calderon and Dragic...

Krsitc and Tomic are way better team defenders then Gortat, plus better offensive players IMO. But again those rankings are my personal opinion, we can disagree. I just know, i would rather have Krstic or Tomic on my team then Gortat, and i would rather have Aradori on my team then any other player i mentioned under him.

Seems good though i would definitely put Printezis in the top 4-5 considering how much he improved the last 2-3 years

I was eying Printezis, i just didn't know where to put him and instead of who. The PF position is definitely the deepest. 5 other players could have been on the list as well.

@Alyosha12, I've moved the posts concerning your rankings to another thread, if you don't mind, as by my experience this thread might become a long discussion.

@Pagat, I kind of agree he isn't exactly no.5, but it's really hard to judge as on a good day he is clearly no.4 and on a bad day somewhere around 30 or less, with very rare chances of him going the middle way

No way Pankrashov is sg, he's pg. Shved is combo guard, more sg than pg - it's true, but he will play pg a lot, cause Bykov is out, Pankrashov won't play long minutes and Kvostov is for bench. I would include Monya - he's sf, but is going to play pf also/more cause of absenties Khryapa and Vorontsevich. Nevertheless, he's a small forward.

Nedovic is sg? He played only pg in L.Rytas last season. I didn't see him in NT, but with Teodosic out i see him playing pg.

Overall it's ok - it's your opinion. I expect Kuzminskas to shine in Euro - maybe to perform better than Maciulis and lots of small forwards from other countries.

Most of you probably don't know him, but you will meet him in couple of days
4th in IBN EuroBasket 2013 Prediction game!
