Wow, this year we're playing really week teams in the preparation games (with a few exceptions, of course) and many people will be unhappy about that but I say whatever suits them... First summer in a long time when we don't have a preparation game with Spain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we didn't play them last year.

You're probably right. Somehow I had this feeling that we always play Spain.

And that's good. I have a feeling these massive loses play well for us Seriously, a little bit too weak opponents. We have to feel what's coming up. At least Greece and Russia will shake us a little bit.

Fking 'ell,do we always have that many prep games? And for this duration? When does our camp start?2 weeks before?
If that and if we go all the way, thats like two months at least.I never actually realised that
And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Zalgiris 17 times in a row.

I agree.National team camps before soccer competitions last two weeks. They play two friendlies and thats it.In basketball camps last from 6 to 8 weeks including countless preparation games(which serve as nothin but a chance to lose a good player in an injury)It's just ridiculous and a main reason why so many players turn down NT invitations every summer.

I don't think it's so onesided. The competion is 100% intense when teams are 100% prepared. If preparation would be shorter and competition longer we would see lesser basketball in the group stages. Besides, the schedulle of friendly games is usually friendly also (all 12 players usually get playing time), so I doubt it's the reason some players skip NT.

                          Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas

                          Murauskas, Sirvydis

Well,I think having championship in September makes more sense for me than having it earlier .
Players need the rest, and in a week or so season will be over for most of them,if they are lucky to be playing in good teams.
So It would give them at least a good month for improving their tans before they join preparation camps.
But if you are over 30 or had injury problems, them two months dedicated for nt team seems like luxury not many can afford.Or the other hand,if a player is without a contract ...those two months are like god sent .Go and figure.
And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Zalgiris 17 times in a row.
