  • The Roots of Football and Bball

Ok, going to start an interesting thread.
I wondered if you know these facts..

Football was first INVENTED in Scotland!
Not in England as the English may claim.
Infact the first ever international match took place between Scotland and England.

Dr Naismith who invented basketball was actually born through a Scottish family who emigrated to Canada.

Golf was invented in Scotland although most of you won't care about this.

Obviously somebody from Naismith's family took part in Baltic Crusades and brought basketball to Scotland

agreed about the gold part, in my blunt opinion it has got to be one of the most boring sports ever. i do enjoy going to the driving range and trying to hit that guy who rides a machine or with lots of pads picks up the golf balls. now that's fun

It's actually not a bad game mate. It's like anything else, if you can't play a bit, it sucks. Imagine trying to play bball and you can't make a layup.
Anyway i find it quite relaxing and if you go round with a couple of buddies, a couple of beers and a few pre rolled fat ones, it becomes even more interesting.

not to be politically incorrect here or anything, but the chinese must have smoked a lot of opium back in the days for this current generation to think so

The Chinese always claim things like this. They said the same about golf.

                          A few keepie-uppies don't constitute "football".

Football as it's played today was born in The UK. Either it was Scots or Poms, I dunno nor care

The Knights of Basketball, gotta love that. Anyway it doesn't matter who invented it, just who perfected it.
