A sidelight to this game is the reunion, albeit on opposite sides, of college teammates JV Casio (PHI) and Bader Malabes (BAH).

The tournament is actually shaping up nicely for the Philippines. Qatar is out. Lebanon has a B team. Jordan has looked poor. 15-point loss to China is not really a bad result and if you were more experienced in FIBA play you'd say you were saving your real gameplan for the knockout stages. Top three is a at least a possibility.

Pinoys are going to smash Bahrain by 40+

Bahrain are one of the worst team's in this tournament

Bahrain (Bad-brain?) is really bad. I am playing the over 144 in this game and looking for points.

The Philippines made very few plays vs. China but against teams like UAE and Birdbrain they look great.

Muhammed Ali is the Greatest. Down goes the jumper! Down goes the jumper!

Oh, didn't dyed blonde hair go out of style circa 2003?

Bahrain's free throws are an adventure. I don't think I've ever seen someone bank in the first free throw and the next one bank off the board without hitting the rim.

I agree with everything you said except about the 15 point loss to China. The game was not competitive and was over by halftime. The lineup the PHilippines put on the court was just too small. They could not compete with the size of China. In order to play with China they will have to try a different lineup.

Easy winner with the OVER 144 as they combine for more than 170 points.

Yes. But hey, Asi was playing his BEST basketball when he had that hairstyle back then. Perhaps he's trying every thing he can to turn back the clock. Hehehe. No knock on Asi though, he's playing with a lot of heart despite age and injuries having slowed him down considerably.

Bad bad performance!
I can't see our chance against Korea,Iran,Japan with this performance!
Our bench players are such awful, our future is so dim with these players.

take easy~ the bench players are just lack of experience , they could beat Korea in the East Asian Cup but also could lost to Japan, so today's game is another good lesson for them~

Imagine what would have happened to the Phil-China game last night if Yi had an off night and Lutz + Lassiter played. Sigh.

China is resting their best players. Which also means their bench sucks.

I'm not impressed with how China runs at its plays at this point. Iran, Korea, and even Japan would breakdown those silly one-one-one plays right away.

Just imagine if Yi or Wang wasn't too lucky against the Philippines in that game:)

Wang and in particular, Yi did not get lucky. They performed well. Yi had his best game in months against the Philippines. He started out struggling and wobbly but asserted his offense inside by establishing his ground and assessing the man on him. I have seen Yi use pivot moves (including that Nowitzki-esque off balance shot) and the square up front against smaller defenders.

Wang even showed some footwork in the fourth to score. Not luck but skill. I expect the Philippines to defend them better if they happen to meet again.

A very interesting game.

I watched the whole game between China and the UAE, yesterday. I must say, I was very impressed by the Chinese supporters. They were wonderful and they cheered for every good play, regardless of the team involved. For example, they even cheered for the UAE's number 9 player, who made a lot of nice runs to the basket. The supporters wanted to see good basketball from both teams, and that is quite an admirable quality to show. :)

I thought China attacked very well. Their movement with the ball was easy on the eye. Their quick passing made them quite unpredictable, at times. The UAE tried to make it a close game but were (ultimately) overwhelmed by the experience and talent of China's players. Nevertheless, it was an exciting game of basketball. :)

To everybody that has "ere" on the way they post. To someone who thinks he/she is damn good on analyzing things. Why? Is my post bothering you? Just take it as it is. Let me post a saying here in my vernacular tounge: "Bato bato sa langit, tamaan huwag magagalit".

I am not bothered at all. So let me get this straight, you can't stomach other people's views / observations and opinions? Maybe a forum is not for you after all. You can also express your views contradictory to what we have posted. So why feel insulted when people express their views or analyses? Know you that you have the freedom as well?

Is it wrong for a member to express their analysis, views or opinion? Why do you feel so irked and have to throw insults?

Also when dissing someone in message boards, the least you can do is quote them and not to seem spineless and waive any fault but quickly reasoning out that you had no one in particular in reference.

Show some balls when dissing someone and not shy away ok? You seem to be full of air after all. It shows on your vernacular that you just like throwing insults around and not taking responsibility.

How did you also came to the conclusion that people who post here are full it? Know you that people here like me are just trying to make conversation with basketball enthusiasts? Going by your logic, everyone here is full of it.

"Bato bato sa langit, tamaan huwag magagalit"

Poor choice of reasoning as well wherein that phrase is used to describe a general group exhibiting a detrimental behavior. When dissing people, expect repercussions.

Finally, you dissed someone who is good on researching or using google? How the hell will you not find that insulting?

I also have a saying in my native tongue: Wala kang bayag

Translation:

You Don't Have Balls.

bro, with due respect, you shouldnt have answered the american girl in an ungentlemanly manner. she just wanted to know who you were referring to. a simple, noncontentious response would have sufficed.:)

what's your problem man..philippines lost to china fair and square..Yi did played well and so as Wang and Sun..but the good thing is that, we saw some points that we can take advantage if ever we meet again..so chill up man..CK13 is just stating her opinion and an objective one..

Can't we just act like a group of gentlemen/ladies here? Sheesh! It's just a game. I'm also disappointed about our loss to China NT and the shenanigans of FIBA-Asia officials. Hopefully in the next edition of Asian Championships, no more controversies and issues please.

OT: To All, I apologized for my stupid
acts. My frustration about what happening in Wuhan got the better of me but I shouldn't have posted it here. Again I apologized. Just to answer CKR's question, it's you dude. Again, I apologized. I know I'm disgusted about your post bout again I should have kept it to myself. Let's continue discussing and sharing thoughts about the game we are passionate about without attacking their POVs. Thanks.

Good Luck Gilas! AMDG!
