Does anyone know who in North America will be televising games from the Americas Championship? Usually NBATV does, but with the lockout I don't know if they will because of NBA players participating.

Where are player like Nene,Barbosa and Varejao? Are they out due to the lockout insurance problems?

They were more than half Brazil's strength together.

Varejao recovering after surgery. Nene doesn't give a sh*t, Barbosa out due some private reasons if I recall correctly, also he was injured for some time, someone who knows situation better will correct me if I'm wrong.
Personally I think it won't be too big damage for Brazil as it might look like without them

He said they could beat every team by double digits, he didnt say they would.

And come on, we are talking about an argentine team that before 2009 could beat anybody not named US with only Scola on the team.

Not to mention in the 2008 Olympics they beat Lithuania in the bronze match even with Ginobili injured.

Now, especially playing at home, whats not to say they will win every first round match by 20 points. Hopefully by the semifinals their legs will be tired enough for Brazil, DR and PR to be able to outrun them and make it close.:D

Im not saying they couldnt.:D

I remember back in Fiba Americas 2007, when PR had 14 point lead against Argentina by the 2nd quarter. We ended up losing by 14.

Fast forward to 2009 where Argentina had big leads before Puerto Rico came back. We went 1-1 with them.

Fast forward again to two scrimmages against them here in Argentina. We won the first one by 7, then lost the second one by 13.

Though the gap between the two teams is closing, Ginobili never played in those games. As good as weve looked, if we put a performance like the one against Canada (even though we won by 11) I bet you its gonna end up with a double digit Argentina win. We gotta smother them in the defensive side, but our game should still focus on scoring 90+ to beat Argentina.

Double digits means 10 points or more, not 20.

Argentina team roster:

The youngest player on the team is Gutierrez at 27 years, 10 months. Ten of the players are 31 or older.

Has anyone ever fielded an older national team?

London will be farewell for truly amazing Argentinian generation. Road to London goes through Mar der Plata. So best players gave word to each other they meet in Mar der Plata (another story is why all best Argentian players are 29+ old)

If I'll go to London 2012, I'll go to see Manu & co. It's like watching The Rolling Stones on their last tour. Except, London is surely last chance to see one of best teams in history ... with Stones you never know.

Carlos Delfino (tendinitis) and Fabricio Oberto (still recovering from a previous injury to the muscle adductor) won't play in the opener.

Panama's prelim roster has been reduced to 13 players, but Jamahr Warren isn't in.

From yesterday game, Jamar Warren did play for Panama (though with 0pts and just 1ast+2stls), while the official roster is still the one quoted...

Checking out the rosters, Argentina is definitely the oldest team. Their youngest is 27 year old Juan Pedro Gutierrez.
