Ïî÷òè 35000 àáîíåíòîâ ñòàëè ïîáåäèòåëÿìè è ïîëó÷èëè ïîäàðêè. Ãëàâíûìè ïîáåäèòåëÿìè ïðîøëîãî ìåñÿöà (àâãóñò, 2006) ñòàëà Åâãåíèÿ Ãîðíàÿ.  òîðæåñòâåííîé îáñòàíîâêå áûë âðó÷åí ãëàâíûé ïðèç - àâòîìîáèëü Âàç2110.
Ïîòðàòü 5 ìèíóò, âûèãðàé ìàøèíó, íîóòáóê, åäèíèöû íà âàø òåëåôîí è ìíîãî äðóãèõ ïðèçîâ.

SMS'achka êîíêóðñ ñïîíñèðóåòñÿ êîìïàíèåé SIBIUS MOBIL ñîâìåñòíî ñ ãàçåòîé ÊÎÌÑÎÌÎËÜÑÊÀß ÏÐÀÂÄÀ (ÇÀÎ ÈÄ «Êîìñîìîëüñêàÿ ïðàâäà») è êîìïàíèåé ÇÀÎ «Ìîáèêîì Ðîññèÿ».

Another spam message (this time, it's about an SMS competition to win big prizes), should have been in Cyrillic, but the spammer's browser screwed it up.

I wonder if those spammers do it manually, or they have some automatic registration + posting system, which works on this forum?

I've actually done some preventative measures to fight spam; uploaded two separate programs (one that prevents members from posting links if they have less than x number of posts) It has curtailed a couple spam here and there, but I think, without going into restricting new members' options (by forbidding new members from posting new thread until they reach a certain x number of posts), that spam could be just a part of our everyday IBN life... any suggestions?

What about adding one of those image verification (?) things where you have to type certain symbols displayed on the image before completing the registration? I think that is the way used by the most websites to prevent automatic programs creating new accounts.

I'll third that. Most of the spam traffic is caused by bots.

Well, that option is on and has been on. I just double-checked it. They must have found a way around this.

Hey all, sorry for disappearing for the last few weeks, I started a new job and needed to make an impression. Unfortunately the spambots got a hold of IBN for a few weeks and I left my mods without the right authority to properly delete them. I'll be more vigilant from now on. I apologize...
